Series Preview May 29-31 Royals @ Cubs
Chicago (AP)-
The defending AL champs the Kansas City Royals come into Chicago to face the struggling Cubs to end the month of May.
The Royals will have a slight disadvantage because their pitchers will actually have to bat, though that disadvantage may be minimal. The Cubs however are hoping to change the skid that they have been on in the past two weeks and change their record of 2-8 in their last 10 games.
Game 1
Jason Vargas (6-2, 2.17, 49k) @ Jason Hammel (1-2, 3.27, 47k)
Well, this doesn't look promising for Cubs fans, Vargas has been strong all year and with the Cubs struggles at the plate, Hammel is going to need to be dominate.
Game 2
Chris Young (3-2, 3.42, 44k) @ Kyle Hendricks (3-2, 4.32, 36k)
This is going to likely end up as a barn burner as both pitchers give up runs and don't miss many bats.
Game 3
Jeremy Guthrie (1-1, 4.76, 16k) @ Jon Lester (6-1, 2.10, 68k)
This is the game the Cubs should be able to take if nothing else, Lester is their best pitcher and has looked like it all year and Guthrie has struggled to miss bats and keep runs from scoring.
