I will switch from 2k to Live if...

OS is a great sports gaming website. I would hope sports gaming companies read through this site to engage directly with the consumers. With that said...

I will switch (back to) Live from NBA2K if and only if...Live introduces a shot stick.

It's that simple, EA Sports. I was an EA Sports NBA Live gamer growing up all my life. When 2k came out, they sort of reintroduced us all to great gaming basketball. Since then, Live has never been able to regain it's place in my mind and other gamers. I am open to making Live my new Basketball video game of choice however the one aspect that must change is the shooting mechanics.

If Live can introduce a shot stick, that is all it will take for me to give it a fair shot. I do not want to press a button to shoot, a different one to dunk,...I don't want to make them the same button. All I want is a shot stick using the joystick on the controller.

I look forward to this improvement.

I like 2k. My goal is that I can give Live a fair chance to be the game I purchase every year. Right now, I'm not even giving Live a chance.

Yeah but a shot stick is not really lives thing. It may not come for a while. If the gameplay improvements don't make you at least wanna try the free demo, then I don't know man

To each their own...I HATE the shot stick.

Live no longer uses the two button shoot\dunk layout, you just use one button.

I wouldn't hold my breath on them getting a shot stick.

Just try the free demo next month and see if you can deal with it, you may end up liking it.

Shooting with the right stick won't be introduce to Live. Until EA brings a more advanced array of animations. Even then I don't believe they'd feature stick shooting. Since the last time they had this (Elite 11) it was scratched totally.

So what? Both games don't have to be the same to be enjoyable.

People glorify 2K as if there's no problems with it and vice versa. People can't seem to see the fact that there's two options available. You buy one, you can buy the other or buy both. People are like 2K is my ish, but they need to do this for me to switch over to LIVE, NO, they don't. Live and 2K doesn't have to cater to needs for you to buy, in the end, people are going to buy what they want and enjoy.

People acting like buying Live is like trying out for the chess team rather than playing football. Ain't nothing wrong with chess if you actually...key word actually enjoy it

That's my thing everyone wants to take sides, and to me it's dumb.. Why not enjoy both? All the #Team2K or #TeamLive is stupid, we finally have the option of choosing both without one being horrible(I hope). So why choose?

Listen, I only play with the shot stick. It's like an NFL game coming out from 2K but instead of using the right stick to juke, they made it only buttons, I wouldn't even entertain that game. Joystick usage can be so precise in comparison to a button which is the same no matter what.

...and to your section where you feel the need to capitalize, the actual answer is yes. Yes they do need to cater to the community, without that they are nothing. In this case, if they never introduce a shot stick, no matter how good the graphics look, no matter how good the menus are, the music, the lighting, etc, I will never give it a try simply because I like the refined control of a shot stick and how accurately you can replicate a shot or movement that a button press will never replicate.

I'm not a "2K fanboy", the fact is, it's my only option. Hense the reason why I posted this thread in the first place. I love EA for every other sport, FIFA, Madden, NHL. I'm giving EA a simple reason why I don't choose them, give the user the option to select, shot stick or buttons, just like 2k, and I will give Live a fair shot.

Shot stick love makes me scratch my head. It's a bizarre mechanic, IMO.

The way you feel about that is the same way most people felt about NHL using the stick to shoot, i personally didnt like it at first, I got used to it and now thats all I use when i play. Having an open mind can do wonders lol.

It doesnt hurt to download a free demo to see if you can enjoy their basketball ideas and see what they're trying to do

I love the shot stick too. One of the best things to happen to basketball gaming IMO. Just feels good to me. If they had a shot stick option, it would be welcomed.

But NBA Live needs to work on there game play and wonky animations. That should be their main focus. The game still has a lot of PS2 looking animations and feel. Especially the post game and stuff around the basket.

You are making my point. The shot stick is excellent in sports games as it gives such precise controls.

Listen I know I'm talking to the minority as I am in the Live forum opposed to the 2k forum. I'm just hoping someone at EA reads this and incorporates the shot stick.

Thanks everyone for your feedback and your urge to get me to try Live, but again, until a shot stick is introduced, I'm not going back to the controls of Super Nintendo/Sega and the button mechanics.
