Re: NBA 2K16 Gameplay Footage Leaked
There was a good YT vid which Forever Versatile shared on Twitter from the Gamestop EXPO stating how the "caught up animations" are now essentially gone also. He mentions how you can break out of them at anytime now when you penetrate and get contact which is really exciting.
I think this mechanic would be great for Russell Westbrook users - you'd go around a screen and essentially get the big on your hip, pull up elbow and elevate for a Westbrook type jumper........ lovely.
I am picturing it, I just hope it's something we can replicate once we have it.....
Edit: The vid was shared by Forever Versatile, but it belonged to someone else. Can't quite recall the name unfortunately.Last edited by MarkWilliam; 09-10-2015, 12:03 AM.Comment

One thing I don't like about this gif is how Lebron just lets curry make that pass to green without even trying to intercept it.Comment

Re: NBA 2K16 Gameplay Footage Leaked
True that, but I'd wager that is on a low difficulty setting. I play on superstar and that gets picked by the CPU every time in 2K15Comment

Re: NBA 2K16 Gameplay Footage Leaked
Actually, I really hope more of these passes are possible in this years game.
There's also a pass in this video made into the paint that would never have gotten through last year, because passing into the paint last year meant an automatic magnetized pass interception or deflection from the defense. It was totally unrealistic.
In this clip, passes like the one in this animation and the one I'm thinking about look natural. They shouldn't be automatic, but they shouldn't be automatically contested or lead to a turnover either. That's the way it was last year.
If the improvements to defense make it easier for defenders to contest and deny, then I would be more than happy to see an equal emphasis on allowing passes to get through that should get through, based on where the defenders attention is focused, the ability to swing the ball around and generate better passing lanes, and the use of angles and motion to create shots and opportunities to create that didn't exist in the game last year.Comment

On top of this, as a bi-product the passes will get through, tough shots will be taken and the FG% should come down a bit to a more realistic sort of number hopefully. I would prefer more tough/missed shot attempts in traffic than more magnetized interceptions.Actually, I really hope more of these passes are possible in this years game.

Out the box, I found 2K15 was always hovering around the 50-55% FG mark. I'd like to see it come down a bit to 45-50%.
The other likely outcome is contact on the inside shots taken and ultimately free throws. Which is also ideal.
But step 1, the ball needs to get through first.
One day I bet 2K will get to the point where a players peripheral vision is a rating and then they'll be implementing line of sight etc. then suddenly not everyone is picking off every pass with eyes in the back of their heads.
Side note: I actually thought OGs concept of the red marker seeing double teams coming was brilliant and innovative. I wonder if this would work on the other side of the ball, highlighting who players can see team mates/passing lanes (i.e; court vision) - suddenly passers like LeBron, CP3 etc. have more of an ability to get balls through to team mates etc. as opposed to weaker passers/players with less court vision.
Anyway, I digress.....Last edited by MarkWilliam; 09-10-2015, 09:19 AM.Comment

Its almost freaky looking how their heads move in unison, but still a nice addition that I never really thought about before.Comment

Re: NBA 2K16 Gameplay Footage Leaked
The sequence from 5:33 to 5:42 is the most realistic animation sequence I've seen in a sports game in my lifetime. Every step is true and accounted for, Bogut sets a pick with no sliding, Mozgov shows and makes contact with Curry as the defense rotates forcing the pass and Barnes taking a forced fade away jumper...just beautiful. Another thing...some of us have a different definition of sliding, but with this clear HD version I saw no egregious sliding or warping. Watch Lebron on his breakaway dunks too...every step is true...no shifting or missed steps. Good stuff.
thats funny because i was able to spot a bit more sliding than i would like. Nothing game breaking, just a few things from 15 i would have like to seen removed. Not to say there isnt an evident improvement.Comment

Re: NBA 2K16 Gameplay Footage Leaked
Haha a little, but in real life people move there eyes to watch the games so there heads move less, it would be pointless to replicate individual eye movements, so head movements sell it instead. Wouldn't hurt to have some people looking down at a phone or up at the jumbotron after a big play and reacting.Last edited by WishListGOD 1 OF 2; 09-10-2015, 11:20 AM.PSN: PYROINCAIRO

Re: NBA 2K16 Gameplay Footage Leaked
Not going to happen this year at all, but it would so kick if crowd members actually took out their smartphones and video recorded some on the court action or simply took some still shots, and you as the gamer can actually see the recording or screenshot on their tiny little phones.
Another thing that would be cool would be to see people eating and drinking in their seats, or leaving their seats for the concessions while returning with food and/or drinks in hand. It would be so cool to breathe a little bit more cosmetic life in the crowds.Comment

NBA 2K17 better have individual crowd eye movement or I'am not buying.Haha a little, but in real life people move there eyes to watch the games so there heads move less, it would be pointless to replicate individual eye movements, so head movements sell it instead. Cool ideas, looking at the improvements to crowds this year they've definitely steped it up, next year wouldn't catch me to by surprise if some of these additions were added, knowing how 2k likes to up the anti. Not going to happen this year at all, but it would so kick if crowd members actually took out their smartphones and video recorded some on the court action or simply took some still shots, and you as the gamer can actually see the recording or screenshot on their tiny little phones.
