I was doing some reading online and a lot of people were throwing around the idea of shipping NCAA football with generic players on real teams. I would buy that, but would the rest of the community? I think it would be interesting to see the poll results.

I only play Dynasty mode so of course I'd play with ultra generics. I already am.

I hear ya. after 5 years in dynasty, that is literally all thats left, generics. Thats how I play too. sometimes I even prefer generics.

I would. I usually play deep into dynasty mode where after 4-5 years all the players are fake anyway, so it wouldn't bother me having all fake players.

I could see where other people wouldn't like it, though, if you're only into online head-to-head or only have time for a play now game every once and a while and want real players(even if it's "Oregon QB #8," we all know who that is).

Makes no sense from a manufacturing standpoint, theoretically they were all generic before that's why they were allowed to make the game.

Yes. I would but/play even if I had to 100% customize the game myself.

I actually prefer playing with generic players. It makes it easier to separate what happens in game vs what is happening in the real life sport, and gives my dynasty its own unique story. Even with a game like NBA 2k, I will usually sim the first 4 or 5 seasons before actually playing any games to create some separation from the real thing.

Most of the OS community would, but we (and all other similar sites) are a small minority. The vast majority of NCAA's purchasers wouldn't like generic rosters at all.

They don't wanna play as Georgia with some skinny white dude running the ball. They wanna use Nick Chubb.

I voted NO because I don't my players to be known simply as QB #1 P #2 K #3 etc......

For the same reason, I also avoid playing FCS teams in each of my dynasties because they're only known as FCS NW FCS SE FCS NE FCS SW (And replacing them with the school's real name doesn't help either because if you look at the scores & schedules each week, THE SAME FCS team can appear MULTIPLE times. Gee, I thought SPLIT-SQUAD games were limited only to MLB spring training. Maybe I'm wrong ?? lol)

They would not been named QB#1 or K#2. They would be generic, random names, random ratings, random looks. Just like if you were to randomize the players in your dynasty during the initial set up.

I'd go for it, heck I've bought college football games with generic teams before (Bill Walsh '95) so generic players isn't much of a stretch for me.

Yes. Bowl Bound College Football is generic with real teams(through a download) and I am enjoying the heck out of it right now. Of course if the game had customization options and a sharing feature, then I think the answer is obviously a yes for near everyone as those that care for actual players can download the files once completed.

In that case, yes I would because I do that in all of my Dynasties (I have to because I play on average 2-3 seasons in a RL calendar year)

However my vote stands in the event of a nameless player scenario like I indicated before though
