Re: Most important Ratings for RB?
This. Plus it depends on what kind of offense you're running. Obviously if you're running an Oregon type spread offense you're going to want speed over strength. And if you're running an I-back offense strength is more importantCheck out my dynasty thread:

Re: Most important Ratings for RB?
For me it depends on if I'm coaching or playing and the type of system I'm running with that team.

Re: Most important Ratings for RB?
Most important to me is carrying.
After that it depends on your offense. Typically for me:
Acc is more important than speed...90 speed is useless if it takes him 50 yards to reach it. I'd gladly take low 80 speed with good acc.
Spin move... Cuz I use it a lot
Trk to hit the hole hard
Always a plus if they have good catching out of the backfield though.Comment

Re: Most important Ratings for RB?
As others have said, it depends on your system. At the moment I am running a run heavy, spread option system. My number one guy is a "balanced" back with great speed. My number two guy is a "power" back with mid 80's trucking, low 80's strength, and great carrying. Both get about the same YPC, they just do it in different ways. The power guy has a huge YA contact and the speed guy just gets to the tackle faster. Personally I think carrying may be the most important skill. You can change up your play calling and system to fit you players, but if they cant hold onto the football it doesn't much matter. I have sat guys that are 5-10 points better then their back up because they had bad carrying ratings.NFL: Oakland Raiders

Re: Most important Ratings for RB?
Yes (although his 50 yard example is a gross exaggeration) and I value ACC over SDP at every position (including PR) except for KR. At KR I want my fastest guy as long as his ACC isn't crap.Favorite Teams:

Re: Most important Ratings for RB?
FWIW, carrying is basically obsolete since running backs fumble about once a season at most...
I think, if you want a speed back, SPD, AGI, ACC, and ELU are the most important ratings. If you want a power back, STR, TRK, SFA, and maybe ACC. I always like to have a back who can accelerate regardless of his style.Cup or Bust (NHL 13)

I definitely exaggerated, but just to drive the point home lol. I am the same way, ACC is more important except for KRComment

Re: Most important Ratings for RB?
I tend to favor power backs so carrying and run a tough between the tackles running game so, strength, break tackle are all things I am looking at (I am still on NCAA '12 so carrying is still a concern). I do like to look for speed backs or compliments to a power run game and there I am looking for acceleration, speed, catching (think a Reggie Bush type model).A Rising Storm in the North | Cheese's Eastern Michigan Dynasty (NCAA '12)

Re: Most important Ratings for RB?
For my system I usually have two types of backs: the Eddie Lacy type and the Darren Sproles type.
The Lacy type back is my workhorse. Usually I look for a high break tackle or trucking. Big size is a plus too.
The Sproles type is my change-of-pace back. I look for mostly speed, elusiveness, and acceleration. If they double up as a receiving threat out of the backfield or returner, that's a nice luxury.Wolverines vs. The World || DavidTheGreat's Michigan Wolverines (NCAA14)
