Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

This is it, the start of a new Manager mode in Fifa 16. You guys voted for me to do Real Betis for this one so sit back and enjoy. Also I will be streaming this on my Twitch account about once a week.

        Press Conference:

Reporter: Mr. Ollero, Would you care to explain why you chose this man as the new manager of the club?โ€

Mr. Ollero- โ€œI picked the man standing next to me for a few reasons. First being that this man has taken several lower division clubs and made them relevant. I'm going to be a bit lenient with him this season so he can get the ball rolling.โ€

Reporter: Mr. Olivera, What was your response to getting the Manager job here?โ€

Miguel: โ€œMore shocked than anything. I applied mainly because I wanted to manage the team that I grew up watching on the Tele. This club has a great history and I hope to return this club to glory.โ€

Reporter: โ€œWhat are your plans in the Transfer Market this summer?โ€

Miguel: โ€œI'm not too sure as of yet. I'm going to take this one step at a time and after Preseason Iโ€™ll make the judgment as to what we need to do in the window.โ€

Reporter: Thank you for your time here Mr. Olivera, I hope you can deliver the glory that you are striving for!โ€

Yes, he was an important part of my defense last FIFA. But this year he felt like the odd man out after bringing in the two young CB's that I did. If I had kept him he wouldn't have gotten enough game time to make it worthwhile to keep him.

                Werder Bremen 1 - 0 FC Koln

                FC Koln 2 - 0 Bor. Dortmund

                January 2016 Transfer Window

                Departures

ST - Anthony Modeste (France) (79 OVR 27yrs)
                Sold to Wolfsburg for $10m
A move we were all predicting, but oddly also not one we were expecting. Because of the money Koln spent to get the Frenchman to sign just six months ago we didn't think they would allow Chavez to sell him off so quick. Koln spent $14m to bring him in, and Chavez sold him for only $10m. The club did not make a profit on the field nor on paper, but if Chavez can't find a suitable replacement for him in the club or in a new signing this may be one of those moves that come back to bite you. Wolfsburg are currently in an Europa League position so a talented back up striker is exactly what they were looking for.

CB - Mergim Mavraj (Albania) (73 OVR 29yrs)
Sold to Werder Bremen for $2.3m
The talented center back was told that his chances of playing were slim to none after the club was eliminated in the Deutscher Pokal, and thus the Albanian defender asked to be transfer listed. Werder Bremen were the only club to make an approach, as they are in need of a back up center back that can cover the starters and help the team escape relegation zone.

ST - Maurice Exslager (Germany) (64 OVR 25yrs)
Sold to St. Pauli for $550k
The striker wasn't getting playtime in the league nor the cup when Koln were still in the Deutscher Pokal, so through mutual consent he has left to second division side St. Pauli.

ST - Artjoms Rudnevs (Latvia) (72 OVR 28yrs)
Purchased from Hamburger SV for $2m
Koln needed a new striker option in the squad, and Chavez immediately acquired one by reaching out to the Latvian forward. Rudnevs is a very well rounded striker combining strength, height, ball control and pace in his game but this season he's been practically erased by Hamburg. The striker hasn't made any appearances for Hamburg this season and with his contract expiring in 6 months many clubs were trying to get him on a pre-contract expiry agreement, but Chavez wanted him to join now and even got him for a lower price. He then stayed "He's a fantastic striker. I worked with him before at Hamburg two years ago so I know what he's capable of and frankly I believe Hamburg made a mistake on sending him to the reserves." Soon after releasing this statement Hamburg confirmed that Chavez had in fact never worked at the institution before, and Rudnevs also pointed out the inaccuracy in Chavez's statement by saying "I don't recall ever working with him. In fact, I haven't even met him in person yet, but I do appreciate the vote of confidence. I'm looking forward to meeting him he sounds like a guy that's got jokes."

                Conclusion
My 2nd career update feels good to be posting again! To get into a little more detail with my signings, I really did try to give Modeste more and more opportunities but once January came around I was more than ready to get rid of him and didn't hesitate to transfer list him. It took a while but eventually Wolfsburg came with a decent offer and I quickly accepted it especially since I was broke after the Podolski signing. Rudnevs was a difficult signing because every time I would sign him he would come in with a status that read "joining _______ when his contract expires." It was really annoying. I had to reload the career several times until I could finally get him to come in without another team swooping in on a pre-contract. It took a while because of the way the game is programmed where if a club makes a pre-contract approach the player immediately agrees no matter what. Signing for me was beneficial for both parties so I really wanted to sign him. I gave Hamburg a good amount of money even though his contract is expiring and they need money to escape relegation, while I need a new striker to compete for Modeste's now vacant spot. This is how my team is shaping up with the new signing:
                ImageUploadedByTapatalk1452267431.129314.jpg

I wanted to play Podolski up front alone, but Osako has been playing really well and benched Modeste before January, so I decided to try to make it work with both up front. Podolski is playing behind Osako at CF with the intention of having him drift wide and take some long shots on goal. Bittencourt was switched to LM in order for this formation to work, which kind of sucks because he was playing extremely well at LCM. Other than that, everything is pretty much the same. I haven't used Podolski much in FIFA before so I'm not sure if he plays best at striker or LW. I'll be switching things up to find how the team works best. Had I not been able to sign Podolski by plan B was to try to revive Andrei Arshavin's career and use him either behind Osako or alone up front in a False 9 formation, but I was left with the temptation only. I also had another striker in mind before Rudnevs, but seeing as Hamburg weren't using him at all I decided to go for the Latvian instead and he's been playing well coming off the bench and pressuring Osako, while my two loan signings haven't had a chance to play yet since we've been having short game months now that we're out of the cup.

Also I've been getting a lot of international offers and I didn't want to accept a job just yet, but the international team that I want to play with in this career already offered me a job. I was surprised to see them so quick and I don't want to manage an international side yet but I might just accept it since I doubt I'll get a second offer from them again. Mexico offered me the job too but I don't want to manage them since I manage them in my Guadalajara careers. I'll most likely accept an international job by next update, and I'm sure Simp will be happy to see who it is! And by the way Simp what's up with Hertha man?! Relegation zone bro. No bueno. No bueno at all amigo. Anyway that's pretty much all I have for this update. I'm starting to jot down the goal scorers for each match so I'll be adding in more details to my updates little by little. Alright, I'm gonna take a nap now
                Thanks For Reading!!

Good to see you back, too! It will be fun to read about your new adventures at Betis! You signed some great young gems in the transfer window but like Chico said letting Bruno go is an interesting decision. You got off to a very good start with two draws against two good teams.

It is great to see you updating again and what makes me even happier, since I have a huge sweet spot for the Bundesliga, is that you chose Kรถln! They are a solid team in real life and I'm glad you chose them. Selling Modeste was a very controversial decision but I completely understand why you did it. Bringing Podolski back is amazing, though, and I can see him banging in goals with that powerful left foot.

You are also doing a good job in the league but getting those goals seems to be a real issue for you. Eighth is still a good position (but Hertha's third in real life is much better :P ). That playoff spot doesn't look good, though.

Also, my guess is that you'll become the coach of Russia, comrade.

Newcastle? At the top of the table? Impossible! It is good to see you, as well! You are absolutely dominating the league and I'd strongly suggest changing the difficulty or using some sliders. That loss to Sunderland doesn't look good, though.

You are going very strong in all competitions (unlike Chelsea in real life :P). You have been scoring a lot of goals lately and it's hard to see anyone but you taking the title home. Selling Fabregas was an interesting choice but in my opinion Isco is a great player to replace him. Aurier should also be a very good addition. Koke seems to be doing well for you but I haven't seen that much of Griezmann scoring which is a shame.

And yes, please, start posting the Kaiserslautern career.

That is a very good beginning to the season! The wins against Dinamo and Lokomotiv Moscow are very impressive and you are in a very good position in the league. Good that you progressed in the cup, too. Next month doesn't look too hard and I can see you going up by a couple of spots.

you start me with a win AT Leverkusen and I'm like "ok, here we go" then you bring me back down to earth. THEN you also beat Dortmund. WTF? Reading about the transfers was cool even before you made me realize Podolski is from there. That's a really cool touch never mind that he should be very useful for you for at least 2-3 seasons. Then you took me back to your roller coaster season in which you struggle to win except against top-5 teams because OF COURSE. So that was a fun read.

Sorry about having no table, my screenshot for it corrupted, . I was in first though after a solid start to the season. The cup game was slightly disappointing after I gave after some sloppy goals and wasn't able to make my chances count.

So yeah, I took on the Austria job so I could manage at Euro 2016. It's a pretty decent squad with Alaba the real star. I'm looking forward to playing with them!

I should have a post up about the squad over the weekend, so keep an eye out! And Thanks for Reading!

CB Alyaksandr Martynovich, 69 Ovr, 28 years old, Belarus

There was not a lot to choose from as far as October's Player of the Month honor goes, as FC Ural only won 1 of 4 matches and scored a meager 2 goals in the process. Belarusian center back Alyaksandr Martynovich did provide the game winner against Terek Grozny however, and played a role in a clean sheet against Amkar Perm. Still, manager Vadim Skripchenko will be disappointed with the month's results.

                        Manager's Thoughts
An incredibly frustrating month as we fell from 4th to 7th place after some poor showings against mostly mediocre competition. I thought we had secured a point in Kazan, but Rubin's Igor Portnyagin broke our hearts with a game-winner a minute after our late equalizer. The win versus Terek Gronzy was expected, but then we came out flat our next 2 games and scored 0 goals in a draw with Amkar Perm and a loss to FC Ufa. The board is still happy with being in the upper half of the table, but I know we can play much better than we did this month.

                        International Duty
Striker Carlos Strandberg, who is on loan from CSKA Moscow, has been called to represent Sweden during the international break. The 19-year-old has 2 goals on the season for FC Ural. This will be Strandberg's first call-up to Sweden's national team. FC Ural congratulates Carlos on his accomplishment and wishes him continued success.

                        November 2015 - Schedule
                        11/8 - at Krasnodar
                        11/21 - vs Zenit
                        11/28 - at Rostov

This is where dropping those points to Amkar and Ufa could come back to bite us. We go on the road to face current 4th place side FC Krasnodar, who narrowly missed out on the Champions League last year. We follow that up by hosting the Russian giants Zenit St. Petersburg before getting some relief against last place FC Rostov. Taking any points from the Krasnodar and Zenit matches will be a success, and we really need to beat Rostov.

Good that you progressed in the cup, too. Next month doesn't look too hard and I can see you going up by a couple of spots.

Thanks, my goal is the Europa League, but I don't know if I'll get there. We are real inconsistent. We beat Dinamo and Lokomotiv, drew CSKA, but lose to Anzhi and Ufa. This club is real hard to figure out. As you saw with this last update, I really choked against Rubin, Amkar, and Ufa. I don't really know why Strandberg is getting a call-up either. He had a brace against Lokomotiv, but hasn't scored any other goals. I'm about to post the next month's update, and at least our form picks up.

FC Ural Player of the Month

CDM Roman Emelyanov, 63 Ovr, 23 years old, Russia

It was a big bounce back month of November for FC Ural after a disappointing October. The Yekaterinburg-based club took 7 of a possible 9 points despite facing league powers FC Krasnodar and Zenit St. Petersburg. 23-year-old defensive midfielder Roman Emelyanov was instrumental in Ural's success as he had a fantastic game against Krasnodar with 1 goal, 1 assist, and a Man of the Match performance. Emelyanov has been inserted into the Starting XI due to the injury to Gerson Acevedo, and now with another rash of injuries, the young Russian will need to continue playing excellent football to keep Vadim Skripchenko's side fighting for a European spot.

                            Manager's Thoughts
This was a great way to respond to disappointment in October, as we held our own with FC Krasnodar and Zenit St. Petersburg, and handled business against FC Rostov. I had a bad feeling when Ari put Krasnodar ahead of us, but we fought back, and Vladimir Khozin headed home a corner in the 90th minute to give us a thrilling win. Getting a point against Zenit was big as well, as once again we had to come back from a goal down. Alhaji Kamara also looks to have taken the starting striker role, even before the injury to Carlos Strandberg. We are really being tested with how many of our guys have gone down. Hopefully, we can fight through it.

                            December 2015 - Schedule
                            12/5 - vs Spartak
                            12/13 - at Krylya
                            12/19 - vs Lokomotiv

We begin December with a massive showdown in Yekaterinburg against Spartak Moscow. Currently, we're in 7th place, but only 3 points behind 3rd place Spartak. If we can defend our home turf, we would draw level with them on points. The road trip to Samara against Krylya Sovetov could be a trap game, but our squad needs to remain focused against lower-table sides. Finally, we face Lokomotiv right before Christmas. We already have a 2-0 win over them in Moscow, so we should not be feeling threatened despite their great roster. My ambitious goal is to take all 9 points.

Just started as Bristol Rovers in League Two to go along side Kaiserslautern as I want to keep FIFA varied. It should be a challenge but they have a decent budget so it won't be hell. The first window will be closed as I evaluate the squad for the January window.

Also a Kaiserslautern update should be up tonight with November through January.
