Re: Madden NFL 17 Address All 3 Phases of the Game: Offense, Defense & Special Teams
Does this mean they are sticking with the same scouting system as from M16?Originally posted by Birdman18Something from Franchise mode that was shared with me.. Notice the 40 yard time. No backs ever came out of the draft that fast. I also don't remember seeing any "speed backs" either.

Nice guess that rules out custom classes thoughOriginally posted by Birdman18Yes, but I've been told that the draft classes have been reworked.. Fewer QB's with superhuman speed, RB's with speed along with the bruisers, WR's who are more varied.. And I've been told the safety positions have been redone where you'll see guys actually come in with good speed, instead of them being an 82 speed with 88 accelerationComment

While that is sometimes the case, it was easy as hell to beat guys in DC that relied on it. If you play the man, you will not only break up AGs, you will get a fair share of deflections for INTs.
Now, understanding how many guys play does mean you will be better off with one or two CBs that will match up. But I also found investing in elite safeties will help even more. It's the easiest way to close the gap and get two men on their typical targets.
I've played a ton of DC, and now Salary Cap MUT, and there is a way to beat everything people try to spam. I will sometimes find myself down 14-0, but will hang in and often turn the tables.
And really, I try to create a scenario where I can use the RAC catch on a bomb. It's much more deadly.Comment

That's somewhat disappointing but I guess it's better than them spending more time messing with scouting. Hopefully they've made draft classes bigger so it can add more to scouting and drafting as well.Originally posted by Birdman18YesComment

Good to hear some things have been reworked... some more variation would be nice, it was far too easy still to spot the gems in the later rounds as everyone else around them had terrible scouted attributes. Also, it would be nice to see the occasional freak... there are no Cam Newton style quarterbacks or Laron Landry style safeties and certain archetypes were just not worth drafting (Speed DEs with super-low strength... urgh...).Originally posted by Birdman18Yes, but I've been told that the draft classes have been reworked.. Disappointing to hear that they are sticking with the 3 attribute scouting system. At the very least I'd like to see them make all attributes available (like Madden 15) and allow us to decide which 3 we want to see.Comment

^^^True, Finding ways to beat he best offensive attacks is how football is supposed to be played; these people complaining about how AG catching is over powered wory me, cause EA may nerf something that doesn't need the nerf. While that is sometimes the case, it was easy as hell to beat guys in DC that relied on it. When somoene complains about something being over-powered, I think they should be required to state the players they are using, the plays they are using and any adjustments they are making; otherwise, for all I know, people getting beat by AG catching may have poor football knowledge, poor gaming skills, may have not gotten the right players on defense, in this case, or a number of other issues; maybe they are blitzing too much and leaving players in 1 on 1 situations?
Also, in Rookie and Pro level games, things should be easier - In all-pro and all-madden, I can can't make those AG catches to an over powered level, to any degree...
I just hope, and I assume also, that EA is not going to get too heavy with the nerf hammer...(fingers crossed)Last edited by 4thQtrStre5S; 05-15-2016, 08:47 AM.Comment

Yeah, I agree. I can't make a full opinion on online H2H, unfortunately as I don't play that mode. And, I tweak my own sliders on all-pro, so it's hard for me to give an unbiased opinion. But, for me, as long as I can remember before/after tweaking sliders, I could NOT complete EVERY AG catch attempted over the top. And, there have been plenty of times that I thought I should get a completion only to get a batted ball or an INT. So, for me, I LOVE the catching mechanics, and think they work fine. As a defender, I almost always use the A button to play the WR and I am able to knock the ball out, frequently. As an FYI, I play exclusively with the Falcons, and I EXPECT Julio to catch EVERYTHING!!! Lol. But, he doesn't. And, if that beast doesn't catch every AG catch attempted, then I don't think there is a problem with it. LolComment

Well seems like speed backs are back this guy would be a 95 speed and 76 strength . Well just hope this isn't very common, getting a guy like this should be every other draft or ever 3 drafts (like a Jamal Charles he don't come every year . will see maybe the tier trait system will be more important then speed! Making combine freaks nice but not elite.
