I'm no expert in analyzing these short clips, but one thing that concerns me is:

Why is Eli drifting to his right, pretty much causing the sack to happen? Are we still looking at the "one side of the defense gets most of the sacks" which is a killer in a stats/goal based progression system.

I think Eli was being used by a user moving to the right.

I know someone has been asking me about crosses and drags against zone coverages, and this is a good clip to show how that works. Watch how the DB responds to the B receiver. When he crosses his face, the DB sinks back and passes him off to the LB, who immediately steps up to defend.

That zone coverage looks A1 to me and has me pumped right now. My only gripe would be the INT they chose to show. I hated the tipped ball in 16 that seemed to float just long enough to be picked lol.


Someone complained about line play and I really think thats in next year. The only position we can't user control is OLine and i think once they create lineman controls, for Offense obviously, then we will get realistic blocking and dynamic pockets. That will hopefully push for the finish of All-22 true step as well.

small thing but it looks like brady's stance is back to being generic. in 16 they had his offset stance. Weird because his sig throwing animation was in the video.. but not his shotgun stance

Yeah... it was odd. Consensus here is that it was user controlled therefore we can forgive the poor pocket presence. If it were CPU I would have preferred to see the QB step up in the pocket as the DTs were being handled by the interior line okay.

A gripe I have is the RG No77 has an opportunity to double team the NT with the C but doesn't engage at all, sort of shuffles his feet a bit and eventually supports the LG. The good thing about this teeny section of clip is that the NT looks like he almost uses a fake out of some-sort before the pass rush (??) and the RG supports the block with the LG by pushing the back of the LG almost (blocking but not engaging/no suction??).

Don't kill me for over-analysing a short sizzler trailer.. but it creates some questions I look forward answering once the game releases.

Also, to over-analyse the sizzle again...

Did anyone notice that as the Dolphin was celebrating after the INT, there was some new cool little interaction after the celebration as the offence took the field, little head tap and what-not...? :P

Dolphins stadium needs to be updated. But other than that, ball physics looked good as well as the pash rush

@22 dont like how the right defensive tackle just throws the right guard to the ground like he's nothing. Very few players in the NFL can pull off this move, maybe only JJ Watt and Suh. From the clips Ive seen defensive tackles don't get any push, seems to be the same old block for a few seconds then boom they break from the block for a free hit on the Qb. Defensive end pressure seems to be improved, I'm sure pass blocking logic and pass rushing has been somewhat improved but it didn't get the major overhaul it desperately needs. How many years will they neglect to overhaul such a major fundamental part of the game.

Did anyone notice how the camera in the Eli vid switched at the exact moment that the DE usually magically pops off his block when the qb scrambles?

I would have loved to see if they hold the block this year when the QB tries to turn the corner...

Yeah, the way they are finishing these clips, with the close up shots, are actually weakening their demonstration of various aspects of gameplay.

They've done this in a few clips now which is kind of odd. In the AP spin video they cut it at the exact moment he put his foot in the ground to start the spin. From the regular angle as the animation started it looked like the animation might look a little odd but up close it didn't look bad.
