Game of the Week
Chargers hand Seahawks their second straight loss in dramatic fashion, 20-23

The San Diego Chargers (2-0) hosted the the Seattle Seahawks (0-2) Sunday in a thriller.

Veteran QB Philip Rivers and the Chargers dominated the passing game with 370 yards compared to Seattle's 182.

After a slow start from both squads, a couple field goals and a Seattle touchdown by receiver Doug Baldwin put the Seahawks up 10-6 heading into the half.

The second half started with a boom with an 85 yard kick return from Chargers cornerback Brandon Boykin. On the very next play backup running back Branden Oliver punched it in for a touchdown to give the Chargers the lead at 13-10. After a Steven Hauschka 44-yard field goal the game was tied heading into the fourth.

The Chargers went on a drive taking 6 minutes off the clock, resulting in a 1-yard touchdown from third string running back Jackie Battle to put the Chargers up 20-13. The Seahawks didn't waste much time (1:01) to knot the game up at 20 with a 45 yard burst from newly acquired back Steven Jackson.

Rivers started a drive that consisted of 13 plays, and took the clock down to three seconds, giving Chargers kicker David Akers an opportunity to give the Chargers the lead for good. He watched the snap come back, the hold was clean, as his boot hit the ball he turned around almost with certainty that he nailed it.. and he did.

Players of the Game-
SD- QB Phillip Rivers; 25-32, 370 YDS, 0 TD

SEA- HB Steven Jackson; 23 CAR, 77 YDS, 1 TD
