Re: Madden NFL 17- New Pylon Cam
I hate to do this because I'm sure I'll be told I'm wrong. But I see it a little differently.
Chung was coming at the receiver but he seemed to pull up a tiny bit and attempt a high wrap tackle. The bigger WR then lowered his shoulder and had the momentum advantage at that point. I don't think that outcome is bad.
Also,
Chung 5'11 215
Allen 6'3 265
Allen had some momentum coming down with the catch and continuing to move forward, he doesn't 'stop', and does have some weight on Chung, so I'm ok with this, too. And, graphically speaking, yeah, he tries a high wrap tackle on him. So, the outcome is realistic, imo. If Chung used the hit stick, it might've been a different outcome. Or, graphically speaking, if he had gone low for the legs, it would've been a tackle.

Re: Madden NFL 17- New Pylon Cam
I second this. The NFL has already created the best broadcast package in sports. The game is basically better on TV than in person anymore. Just copy that presentation and call it a day.
And, as mentioned, there probably isn't a worst replay angle in sports video games than that stupid up close shot of the ball spiraling through the air. That's just want I want to see on a replay of a big play... The ball spinning for 2/3 of it
I do like that pylon cam though, and honestly how that play looked in general.Comment

"Beyond your typical broadcast"
Noooooooo. No one likes this direction. Just bring what we see on tv. Why have Extreme close ups cut scenes in the huddle? That is immersion breaking.
Why have close up of the ball flying through the air? Where you hardly see any of the play?
You're claiming sim. But want to do your own thing with broadcast.
As far as the pylon cam, I like it. I've seen it in real broadcast. I don't have any complaints with it.
Some suggestions tho. Maybe have it look like it's actually in the pylon, like have a boarder around the screen so it looks like it's inside. Also a slight fisheye effect. I think the real one sort of has some effect.
Right now it just looks like a in game camera placed where the pylon would be.
Overall it's cool. If they never give it any illusion of being in the pylon or any effect it wouldn't bother me.
Sigh...it does have a border around it. Watch it again, and focus more on the video and less on what you want to complain aboutPlease, read my story & learn how you can make a difference here: https://life.indiegogo.com/fundraise...her/x/12104444

Oh? Which broadcast package would that be? CBS? Fox? ESPN? NFL Network? NBC?
That's 5 completely different broadcast packages, unless when you say "NFL" you mean to say "NFL Network". Why not just pretend that the "EA Sports Network" is a 6th channel with their own package & call it a day? I could understand if they labeled everything with the NBC logo, for instance, and then didn't give an authentic NBC experience.
I think some of you guys (not singling you out specifically) just like to hear yourselves complain. We haven't even really seen this years presentation outside of a blog and already people are throwing fits. This is the reason I disappear from here every year as soon as the game launches, and don't return until after the NFL draft.
Back on topic, I think the pylon cam (the purpose of the thread, not the replay of the ball in the air) looks pretty good. As long as catches in bounds at the sideline have been tuned to be officiated correctly, this will make for a fun replay. Please, read my story & learn how you can make a difference here: https://life.indiegogo.com/fundraise...her/x/12104444

Re: Madden NFL 17- New Pylon Cam
But yeah it definitely does have a border. Literally looks exactly like what I was trying to describe.
Certainly don't see how I was complaining since I actually said it doesn't bother me. But whatever. My bad for not watching the entire video.
Looks good to me. Neat addition. Stuff like that adds up. Really liking the effort in seeing them put into "the little things"Comment

I didn't even know I hadn't watched the whole video. I just clicked on the thing on the op.
