Re: Mr Robot
SPOILERS AHEAD IF YOU'RE NOT CAUGHT UP since its only a day later. put in spoiler tags
So...
Spoiler
I think Elliott's definitely in a mental institution of some sort, more than likely voluntarily commited. Since it seems he can come and go freely during the day. Unless that's an illusion as well. Hot Karla, an open pyro, would have been arrested a long time ago. A day room/courtyard maybe? It really aslike that vibe. Craig Robinson is definitely in with him. Nurse/orderly maybe? He defused things pretty fast and knew who Elliot was.
Too many other things relate to being commited.
Leon, I'm convinced, is another personality, as why would someone on the outside eat every single meal with the same person every day. Plus, conversation is real one sided. Who'd be ok with that?
His room sees to be laid out like a prison cell, with his mother acting much like a nurse type every time we see her. The Gideon visit and her reaction is odd for someone living with his parent.
Im sure the closeups of the books and Elliots journal has some relation too. I think he's constructed this illusion to make it easier to fight off the urges of Mr. Robot while "inside"
Outside of that, it seems that everyone is losing some form of control. Or fighting for it anyway. As Elliot said, there seems to be cracks in the Illusions of control. Darlene feels like she's losing the fight, Angela's outward confidence is a complete illusion and she feels lost now after everything, and Joanna despite all outward appearances and sexual kinks I think now realizes Tyrell meant more to her than she thought.
I rewatched the first part, and noticed Darlene was in the park on a bench watching the e-corp lawyer. Probably was hacking her smart watch and gained access to everything when it fixed.
The FBI agent is the new player in the game im not sure on. Curious where that leads, and I totally didnt see Gideon getting killed coming at all.
This season is starting out great.
Also, BONSOIR ELLIOT!
HELLO BROOKYLN.

Re: Mr Robot
I don't think that Mr. Robot thinks that people see the Christian Slater form, but instead I think that he thinks that they see the crazy, cutthroat, nihilistic, angry hacker persona.Jordan Mychal Lemos

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.
Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.Comment

Re: Mr Robot
I just watched the first episode this morning, and I'm not sure I know what's happening anymore, LOL. It's hard to tell what's real and what's not. That's a good point about him being in a mental institution, LionsFanNJ, and Leon would make sense as some sort of multiple personality like Mr. Robot as that level of one-sidedness makes no sense in a relationship. I mean, I understand some people talk more than others, but I don't think anyone is going to be okay with the conversation being 99.9% one-sided.Comment

Re: Mr Robot
I think the people are real, just maybe not who we see them as. Eating all meals with someone in the same restaurant doesn't happen in reality unless something is wrong with that person. He eats every meal because maybe he is in a institution and the other guy just discovers Seinfeld because it's on TV all day. Someone talking and not reacting when Elliot starts talking to himself points to institution. Then the guy with the dog could be someone who brings in a therapy dog and he knows he worked on computers and wants help with something.I just watched the first episode this morning, and I'm not sure I know what's happening anymore, LOL. Re: Mr Robot
Sam Esmail decided to not only be the creator / showrunner / writer of the show, but direct it this season as well...
Somewhat risky, because it's taken the show into a much more complex version of his vision...
Personally, I admire the artist who goes "all in" despite the potential commercial consequence...
That being said:
It would totally s*ck if that gets it cancelled...Comment
