Re: NBA 2K17 Gameplay Blog with Gameplay Director, Mike Wang
1. Are we able to call a quick post up for any player or is it still just for the player on the floor with the highest post rating?
2. Are off ball defenders better at defending the manual backdoor cuts?

Any notable tweaks to the historic players this season? I noticed Kareem's signature sky hook while highly rated lacked anywhere near the accuracy he had on it away from the paint.
On that note, can we do running hooks ala Magic?Comment

In 2K16 Pro Am/MyPark/Team Up you could make a post entry pass from the wing or the corner down into the low block and the perimeter defender could sprint down and double team the big man while still having enough recovery speed to make it back out to the three point line and get an excellent "green" contest on your jump shot if the post player passed the ball back out to you at the wing or the corner.
I'm not sure if this problem was being caused by the court being too small, the player models being too big, or the defender's off-ball movement speed being too fast.
But the result was that the best spots to make a post entry pass in 2K16 Pro Am/MyPark/Team Up were from several feet behind the three point line at the top of the key, or from a few feet inside the half-court line on the wings, which is completely backward from you're taught to do as a guard in basketball.
Will corner and wing shooters finally be able punish defenders who recklessly leave them open to go double team low block post ups in 2K17 Pro Am/MyPark/Team Up?Last edited by jyoung; 09-02-2016, 04:43 PM.Comment

Can you manually trigger a protect the ball animation when driving to the hoop ex marbury against players/cpu that love to strip the ball.
Can you Alley Oop spin out of post position animation like Blake griffin does.
Do AI big man that are known to push the ball during a break like draymond green push the ball.Last edited by Crunky; 09-02-2016, 04:57 PM.Comment

Good to hear, I think it's time to start getting into some of the more intricate parts of the PNR, it's such an important part of the NBA. Snaking, splitting, shorting...I would love to see all of that implemented.Did this dude just did this?Comment

Waaaait Mike ur still in here going strong??
Definitely the real MVP...lol.
Can we get some more info re: Advanced Rotations? Can we use them online?
Can I turn on real player % for online play shooting and not use the shot meter? (Almost sure the answers no but just checking)
Did calling a play in timeouts make it in this cycle?
Any chance Game Reel returns? That was an epic feature...can't believe its gone *cries*
Online we only allow you to use User Timing for shooting. Gotta keep everyone on the same playing field.
Playcalling in timeouts did not make it in. Sorry.
Nor did Game Reel. That's a presentation team feature though. I don't have much influence there.Comment

Thanks for the reply. Just a quick follow up question about the Shot Creator
Will you be expanding this outside of MyCareer in the future so roster and draft class editors can use this great feature? This is seriously pretty amazing tech that I didn't expect for quite some time. I know everyone at #SIGNATION would greatly appreciate this being openly availableComment

Re: NBA 2K17 Gameplay Blog with Gameplay Director, Mike Wang
Thanks for all the info @Beluba!!! It's really amazing all the interaction and importance you guys give to the community... ;-)
The only concern I have is, let's say, I am happy with giving the user more control and make stick skills more relevant... But will basketball strategy/skill/IQ be able to overcome a highly skilled player with no basketball knowledge???
I mean, I wouldn't like to be consistently defeated online by a guy that is just able to run and gun like hell, pass, dribble and shoot (and cheese all over the place if that is still possible) like an angel but never run plays, or pick and rolls, or doesn't execute post moves, attack mismatches, etc...
I know it is a difficult question and perhaps impossible to answer it but I wouldn't mind to know your gut-feeling about it... For instance I have always thought that running basketball plays instead of just "pass-dribble-shoot" should have some kind of boost in the '2k world'...
Cheers!!!
Maybe in the Park, the stick skills guys might have a slight edge compared to last year just because of how much space there is to work. But I really wouldn't worry about it. My goal in all my tuning will always be to reward smart basketball over stick execution. If you don't feel that we accomplished that out of the box, let me know and it will be corrected.Comment

2. Yep, this was one of the primary goals of the offball collision system.Comment
