Re: Player Archetypes NBA 2k17
Really hope rebounding is all that it's cracked up to be. But I'm concerned that height impacts rebounding as seen in the videos. The better rebounders are the shorter guys, not the 7-3 players. I really hope that this is fixed.Comment

Re: Player Archetypes NBA 2k17
You have some valid concerns but I can tell you right now that it's looking good. One of the developers said in his blog, I think it was Mike Wang. that this year they added more ability for a shorter player to jump higher not a 7 ft 3 player jump just as high while being 7 ft 3... also a lot of it is player skill, I hooked up with that dude online (no homo lol) MJ23 Pola Bear and we played park and pro AM he was grabbing ALL kinda boards over 7ft 3 players and THAT WAS IN 2K16! They ARE tweaking it even more in 2k17 towards the favor of a shorter but athletic big man as far as rebounding goes. But it's not just that. Rebounding as a stat last year was underdeveloped the glass cleaner and the post lockdown defender will take big hits to their potential if they don't stand out as superior rebounders based on their stats compared to everyone else. I doubt 2k F'd that up.Comment

Re: Player Archetypes NBA 2k17
Under SG what would be best to recreate A Dwyane wade /James Harden type of player I want to eventually end up on the heat to replace wade but I want him to be able to make 3s at a good rate and still be able to get in the paint when needed and be able to playmake is shot creator best for this? Every thing is sorta balanced so I'm wondering#HeatLyferComment

Re: Player Archetypes NBA 2k17
With NO actual proof and just "what some guy on twitter said, I don't remember..." and and actual post FROM A DEVELOPER saying that our athleticism and ball handling would be the same if we had the same vitals I'm more inclined to believe the DEVELOPER simply cause I can see it with my own two eyes. Last year I did make a 6 ft 8 center as well as a 6ft 8 small forward with (post) lockdown defender and (perimeter) lockdown defender and I could guard all 5 positions... AND they had it like that last year but this year to say SIZE matters and still put a hidden cap by position doesn't make sense. There is already a soft cap for 2k17 because the RANGE of the positions varies (can't make 6ft 5 center for example so naturally a 6ft 5 Power Forward will be faster as an extreme example BUT if they had the same Vitals a 6ft 8 Power Forward vs a 6ft 8 Center) - Same Wing Span, Weight and Height. I'm 99% sure they are the same VITALS based on the developer said. At this point I want someone to prove me wrong just to make sure I'm not over looking something. I'd rather be wrong and learn something than be right and in for a rude awakening... Where is the link to the "guy on twitter with the game" claiming same vitals regardless of position means different stats... gotta cite your source.Attached FilesLast edited by Rockie_Fresh88; 09-07-2016, 05:07 AM.#1 Laker fan

Son I'm excited for the game! Maybe that's the energy you sense. I mean no hostility I wanted to thank you for starting this wonderful thread. And thanks for the screen shot. Not sure if I believe him but yea we will find out A LOT of things in TWO days. You're talking to a guy that spent 300-400 dollars last year testing builds on 2K. I'm more of a DOER than than A TALKER. I will definitely be sharing my thoughts with ya'll when Prelude hits whether I'm WRONG or RIGHT about ANYTHING. This discussion has absolutely been PRICELESS.Comment

Re: Player Archetypes NBA 2k17
Shot Creator is THAT OP build on offense. They have awesome badges mid range dead eye, difficult shots... to name a few but here is the catch. Their normally low three ball is HIGH off the dribble so they also have a 3 ball... That's what people are finding out.. that their three ball is high off the dribble because of their unique ability. Also I saw a video describing exactly what difficult shots and it's not like deadeye, its the ability to hit "difficult shots OFF THE DRIBBLE" that not only have a high off the dribble stat they have a badge to compliment plus they got a badge to compliment their mid-range. A point guard short creator is slightly better than a SG one because he will have the ball in his hands all the time. HERE is where it all ends though... It's Rock, Paper, Scissors balance, a LDD (LockDownDefender) would COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN any shot creator, no arguments there. They would drain their stamina if LDD were a SHORT BIG MAN version the only valid type of LDD he'd have BRUISER, drain them (stamina), take away their badges and lower their offensive attributes. Who said this game ain't balanced? But since I believe LDD will be rare. The META will be point guard shot creators. That's my BOLD PREDICTION. You heard it here first. There is already a youtuber named Sam Pham (asian dude, smart dude honestly) who made a video about PG Shot Creator and how OP it is.#HeatLyferComment

Since YOUTUBE inspires people and feeds the "sheep" - lemme STOP! LOL I want to take away attention from the LDD build by sharing this with the community, I hope this goes viral and this is the new META. Check it out!!!

Re: Player Archetypes NBA 2k17
Iight man thank you appreciate the insight I been checking out the stats and thinking of wade and harden they both great at shooting getting in the paint ad well as passing and shot creator seemed the best balanced with great adds to it like the difficulty and we'll wade and harden be getting some tuff of the dribble shots so I think it's best plus I can kind of change up the stats with his height and wing span gon make him almost identical see if it works out but thanks again
Prime Wade was a pur slashing player but this year a slasher seems cant shoot correctly at 3... too bad...Comment

Re: Player Archetypes NBA 2k17
I just want a fast 6'0-6'3 pass first point guard. With max out defense to lock people down. I want max out agility. And want to be able to pass n dribble well. I dont need be a deadly shooter but respectable. At least be able to knock down open jumpers if left wide open. Young Chris Paul is who i have in mind. Playmaker would be perfect but i can't max defense.Comment
