Right I have played every game from the start even the old pc games and I play gm\franchise mode only but I get very frustrated with people who continue to moan about this version. Offline you can use the sliders and change allmost every thing ( this is what every one asked for and they gave us it) so if the game dont play right just fiddle till you get it right. I have played about 25 hours so far and nearly got it as I want it. Its a game after all, I buy quite a few games for both xbox and pc and not one has ever been perfect. I just wish people were more constructive and grow up. This is not a bad game at all.

I'll say this, it's obviously tough for EA to satisfy everyone, but a lot of complaints and or gripes have been issues dating back to 09/10. I think some people are just finally fed up.

I dunno, I have been one of the series biggest critics over the years and find this years game offline more enjoyable than ever. Just have to find the right balance slider wise. Which was easy for me this year after playing on superstar hardcore default (road games) and all star hardcore default (home games) last year.

Why are you so concerned with what others think? Why should this impact your impression or enjoyment with the product?

And there are no slider options for online players. Online, which is all I play, is by far the worst it has ever been, imo. But thanks for telling me that I'm wrong and that everything is great.

I "sold" this awful game on eBay, but the jerk didn't pay. So I still have it and get talked into playing club every so often. Each time I turn it on I end up swearing it will be last. There is hardly a redeeming quality to the online gameplay.

But hey, maybe I should just "grow up". Forget everything I know from 30 years of hockey and accept this excuse and attelmpt at whatever this digital representation of the sport I love is supposed to be. Great attitude to have.

Wrist shot top glove side cheese online makes this game boring. What happened to the slap shot going in as I go up the boards? It was there is the beta.

Online the game feels one dimensional and yes one timers work but as a casual hockey fan I'd say not enough variety in scoring online. Cheesing is rewarded.

I'm going to try offline career today with sliders to see if I get some variety but I wish that variety was there in EASHL.

Legacy issues. Anyone whose played the series since 07 can pick the same old stuff going on. Sliders help but it takes so long hunting for a good set and why should I have to spend my time "making" the game when I've paid the guys who've made it to give me a good game already made?

There are definitely some issues that have persisted for years now and, I personally, still wish that the player likeness would catch up with other sports titles in 2017 (definitely not the biggest of lingering issues by any means, just something I really would love to see), but I have to be completely honest and say that this is far and away the best hockey experience I've ever laid hands on. I'm honestly thrilled with how much of an improvement this game plays as, despite having no overtly groundbreaking additions. I haven't been this happy with a game since the very first introduction of the skill stick and, while nothing in this edition is as large of a change as going from face buttons to the skill stick was, this game is a better overall hockey game than any they've previously made.

I myself think the sliders are kind of a cop out.

As in, the devs can't property tune the game, so they'll leave it up to us.
Just make everything adjustable!

So now, when someone has a problem with the game play...hey, its your fault, just adjust the sliders!

Thing is, I didn't buy the game to play "find the tuner you like"
I just want to play some hockey.

Is it madden that allows people to upload rosters and tuner sets to make it easier for people to share? Could have sworn I saw that feature years ago...

People have been clamoring for years for sliders so that they can tune the game to their liking. EA adds sliders and it's a copout because they can't bothered to tune the game.

This is the worst game I've played of hockey when it comes to be a pro specifically. (I played 09, 12, 14, 16 and now 17 on BAP) But, I ONLY play be a pro, and I'm ONLY basing it off be a pro. The problem with be a pro has always, and will always, come down to the fact you cannot control your AI teammates no matter what. (I do like EASHL in this game) but this year, I was playing on All-Star difficulty, adjusted the sliders a lot, and not only do I have to redo half every game, I started out 8-14-2, -6 and couldn't score anything other than cross crease garbage.

That didn't bother me. What bothered me is the fact my AI teammates would stand there, watching the puck, or if they actually had the puck, they either let themselves get run over without passing, or they tried passing through 2 defenders. The biggest issue, is I never adjusted the sliders any different, and all of a sudden I won 14 straight, and got 8 shut outs. That makes absolutely no sense. I took a screenshot of my sliders before the season. I double and triple checked them after the 14 game win streak in the BAP menu, and in game menu. Same settings. That's what frustrates me. How the sliders don't seem to actually work at all.

12 games later, no sliders adjusted and I went 9-2-1. So I'm 23-2-1 in the last 26, even though (and I kept track of this) in those 26 games, I have 37 points, yet 24 out of the CPU's 28 goals were scored when I was on the ice. I'm a LWer, the D-man hasn't scored on me. It's my AI teammates getting beat but only when I'm on the ice. That's why this is the worst game ever in terms of BAP for me.

As for everything else, I can't comment. EASHL I loved during the beta, and now it's still playable, just too easy to score.

Haven't bought it, probably won't. I've rented it the last few years after buying for decades. As has been mentioned legacy issues... there's still no reasonable stick checking ffs. Still that ridiculous lift stick and risk high stick nonsense... like there's no horizontal movement with a stick irl. And how about the faces? We have pros with 10+ years in the league and thy have no face scan? And the same masks for what feels like 20 years on the goalies. And no editing in gm modes so you have to kill your progress and restart if you want an impact rookie part of your dynasty... and I could go on and on as I have many, many times before.

But why are people not satisfied? Because the game is usually not very good.Yes, it's the best hockey game made (the only), and the best ever... but who wants to dance with the 'prettiest' of a bunch of ugly sisters?

I learned years ago, you want to play be a pro, do yourself a favor and create yourself on the main roster, put yourself on the team you want, and position lock during the games.

You can at least control the strategies, lines, etc. Start yourself off based on a high end rookie, then after each season you can adjust your ratings.
