Re: Super Mega Baseball 2 Gameplay Video
i'm still puzzled why mlb won't give their license to this game and continues to give it to rbi baseball, a clearly inferior game.....makes absolutely no sense. xbox one users like myself are already cheated out of a baseball sim, so at least give us this game with the mlb license!! please!! all will be forgiven if they do that.Comment

I thought the MLB license was available to all parties. Super Mega Baseball simply doesn't want to pony up the dollars for the license is my guess on why it's not a licensed MLB game. I might be mistaken, but that's just my uninformed take.Comment

It's too bad we have to wait until mid-2017. I (like a lot of baseball gamers) will be ready to play in the next month or so as spring training starts.Comment

Licenses aren't given out. The team here doesn't want to spend the money. Most likely, if they did, it would detract from the money they spend on other items that make the game the game it is.
I don't want a license. With the amount of editing they are allowing now, I'm sure someone will figure it out for those that badly want an MLB game."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Re: Super Mega Baseball 2 Gameplay Video
Editing is expected to be quite robust. Depending on how many people buy this game (and since the team had funding to make a part 2, I'm assuming the first did really well for a small indie), I fully expect we will get some form of MLB from someone, somewhere - assuming we can share those files.Originally posted by pistolpete1980I am really curious to see how much editing we can really do. If they open up the rosters, league, scheduling, I think it could be absolutely amazing. I don't know real MLB that well enough anymore to care who I am pitching to, etc., but a 162 game season with somewhat realistic stats would be cool if I'm socking 45 dingers with some guy named Huge Long or Jose Bautista.
Customizing players was a key element of the season mode, and in Super Mega Baseball 2, Metalhead is giving people a lot more options in that respect. Players will be able to edit names, logos and uniforms for every ballclub, with the logo editor offering prefabricated text and images as well as more abstract options for creative people. The season mode will also allow players to customize the number of teams in the league, along with the length of the season and the number of playoff teams. Plus, the option to edit individual players will return."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Re: Super Mega Baseball 2 Gameplay Video
if the customization includes adding any logos, names and such, the license wouldn't really be needed. something along the lines of ncaa football 14 would be great.Originally posted by pistolpete1980That would absolutely work for me.Comment

just curious what the sales numbers are on rbi baseball and if they are making any money off that game at all. as bad as it is, it still continues to come out. i tried it and it was really bad and the reviews reflect that as well.Comment

I happen to like RBI. Thought the last version was fun. I'm sure it's not a big seller. But it also doesn't have a huge budget."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. Re: Super Mega Baseball 2 Gameplay Video
Can anyone comment on both the gameplay and season mode?
Can you compete in a traditional 'league' of some kind?
Do you lose players to free agency, or can you keep them forever? Do they improve over time as well?
This game looks pretty fun and I'm tempted to give it a shot. I still love my 2K13, but it would be nice to have a ballgame on my next-gen console.
EDIT: Nevermind, I think I found my answers.
Sounds like the game could be very deep this year. Definitely interested.Last edited by Money99; 02-17-2017, 10:20 AM.Comment

I doubt there is free agency. But would be cool if we can move players to other teams if we wanted."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. Re: Super Mega Baseball 2 Gameplay Video
There were multiple position ratings in the first one.
No injuries. Not enough players. Rosters weren't 25 deep. I think it's more like 18.
There were 8 position players. About 3 bench hitters. 3 starting pitchers and 3 relievers. Something like that.
I can't remember if day to day fatigue was a thing other than for pitchers."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace
