Sean Wilson is a dmr rep to follow. Appears he answers lots of questions. Looks like this 2017 stuff won't be free, ugh.

Also:
"But the next full game won't be discussed until June most likely."
That would fall in line with another September release.www.heyimbill.com | sports poster art and other cool stuffComment

Re: NASCAR Heat Evolution Available, Post Your Impressions Here
I guess they want to capitalize on the playoffs by putting the game out then, but I feel the best time to release is around the Daytona 500. Such a shame they want to go up against the Madden and 2k games.Comment

Re: NASCAR Heat Evolution Available, Post Your Impressions Here
Seems odd they would give us a 2017 update on the current game and release a new full game with the same stuff in the same year. I just hope this is their way of saying a game will be released every other year with DLC to update the game before the next game. Could mean they just say in June that a new game won't come out until Feb 2018 and that paint scheme packs for 2017 will continue to be released up to that point.Comment

Re: NASCAR Heat Evolution Available, Post Your Impressions Here
Looks like $9.99 for 2017 schemes, schedule, and drivers. I haven't bought any DLC to this point and was hoping this would be free too, so I doubt I get this, as bad as I want it.Comment

Re: NASCAR Heat Evolution Available, Post Your Impressions Here
So, NHE: Victory Edition basically. That's okay, seems like a new game is almost a given at this point, guess we'll have to hold tight and wait 'til June.www.heyimbill.com | sports poster art and other cool stuffComment

Re: NASCAR Heat Evolution Available, Post Your Impressions Here
I'm happy they updated the visuals for 2017 and rearranged the schedule but I'm kind of on the fence about the price; $4.99 would've been more attractive. The new rules would've made it worth $9.99 but I understand that they had so little time to implement that with the real-life changes only being in January, that and it would probably take a lot of under the hood work to get it to operate properly.
Sean Wilson gave a reasonable response as to why the 2017 update doesn't include multiplayer. I can't say I totally agree with it but it's understandable.
As for NHE 2017/18, again I'll say (and I see others that agree) wait until February 2018. Have the new rules, track changes, alternate schemes, etc for 2017 in the vanilla release and have a day-one update such as this one for 2018. Release monthly or bi-monthly packs with alternate schemes and challenges. Most importantly, take the time to improve!Comment

Re: NASCAR Heat Evolution Available, Post Your Impressions Here
Well, we can all forget about the taking their time and planning on an early 2018 release.
(If you're not familiar, Mr. Wilson is the executive producer of the NHE series.)
Nothing on the "official" feed besides this:
Time will tell if they plan on implementing anything the fans have asked for or if they're actually going to improve anything. We can suppose that they'll add the new race format, points system and other rules and I speculate that they'll add new challenges and alternate paint schemes from this year but we'll have to wait and see.
Really makes the 2017 DLC update seem even weirder.Comment

Re: NASCAR Heat Evolution Available, Post Your Impressions Here
Hate to say I told you so, but... a June announcement is basically a three-month promotional window.
On the positive, look at it this way: This sequel has almost certainly been in development since the last game shipped, in the planning stages even longer. There's a whole ton of stuff they could be adding (hopefully Xfinity/Truck series!) but we probably won't know anything until June.
One thing I wouldn't expect within this timeframe is to see the sequel running on a new engine. I could be wrong but we'll see.www.heyimbill.com | sports poster art and other cool stuffComment

Re: NASCAR Heat Evolution Available, Post Your Impressions Here
I really hope all the DLC stuff didn't take too much away from the development of the next title. I'm hopeful since they haven't put a patch out in a bit, that they've spent that time devoted to the Sept. release. Honestly, hope they don't intend on adding Xfinity/Truck series, I'd prefer they correct all the other issues and build on the foundation. Still, I'm excited that there will be another game atleast.Comment

Re: NASCAR Heat Evolution Available, Post Your Impressions Here
So, that makes the decision pretty easy I guess. I highly doubt I'll be buying the 2017 DLC if there's a new game coming in September again.
I go right back to my previous point though... Why September? Maybe they think that's when fan interest is highest with the chase starting which should help their sales or something, but really, that leaves you 10 weeks of interest as opposed to the 38 total weeks or so that the season covers.
I would think that late of a release limits them so much from a business standpoint. The season is over shortly after release, football and Madden season is in full swing for as well as NHL. Sure, not all football and hockey fans are also Nascar fans, but theres alot of other sports titles you're fighting with for gamers cash at that point in time. I think it would make more sense to work with the game through the actual season. You could release DLC paint scheme packs, challenges/moments based on the current season, and whatever else you can come up with to keep those revenue streams fluid.
I wont drag it on anymore, but I'm glad they let the cat out of the bag that there's a new game coming though. I just hope they listen to their fans here and other places and get this game on par with what is expected. They've had plenty of time here since they haven't really supported the first title other than with paint schemes. Fingers crossed, because a sport like Nascar deserves a top quality game like the one Formula 1 has.Miami Dolphins - Detroit Red Wings - Toronto Blue Jays - Michigan Wolverines - CANADAComment

Thing is, are you going to be willing to pay $60 for it right off the bat? Gonna have to be some HUGE improvements and great reviews to justify that for me.Comment

Re: NASCAR Heat Evolution Available, Post Your Impressions Here
I just want better sound, visuals, gameplay customization options, and better racing model from a controller. The AI was great for the most part IMO.
I've been pretty critical of this game all along, and IMO it deserves it, but I also want to say this on the AI.
I had previously mentioned running a 100% race distance at Michigan. I probably had the difficulty set a bit to low, but I was just killing time and wanted to unlock the 100% distance and victory achievements. However, that being said, it was so nice to play a Nascar game where 20 laps into a green flag run the field actually felt like the field of a Nascar race. It wasn't pack racing. It was cars spread out, several lengths apart, with position battles scattered through the pack. It was drivers falling back in the pack from pit strategy and working their way back up into the top 10. It was a running order that kept changing from time to time as they actually passed one another. I could actually see AI cars passing one another and working their way up the field as well.
At one point, I pitted on a caution where not many others did and I dropped back to 30th, at the tail of the lead lap. The restart happens, the field is bunched up, but about 5 laps later it's spreading out nicely, and I actually felt I was working my back up through a real Nascar field on race day. I watched cars ahead of me running multiple lines independently, and while racing others. I saw AI cars adjusting their line as I approached them to try and take away my preferred line to make me find another way around them. Mind you, because of the difficulty setting being lower than it should have, I progressed through the field easier than I should have, but it was awesome to see the AI actually act like real Nascar drivers, and the field look like that of a real Nascar race.
If they did anything right, it was the AI for sure, and that's the encouraging part that will eventually make me buy NHE2 whenever it releases.
If you have a couple hours to kill I recommend trying a 100% race length, or at least something long enough to experience regular tire/fuel wear, long green flag runs, pit stops etc. etc.Last edited by brandon27; 02-17-2017, 03:13 PM.Miami Dolphins - Detroit Red Wings - Toronto Blue Jays - Michigan Wolverines - CANADAComment

Finally got some time to download the new scheme pack released yesterday and have to say the Harvick Busch skins are gorgeous! Makes me even more depressed they can't be included in 2017 update.Comment
