builtbymachines Sliders (*mainly for CPU vs CPU)

Like the title says, these are my CPU vs CPU sliders.

You may or may not find these helpful for other play types but be my guest.

    A few notes first off:

    - I know not every setting has an effect on CPU vs CPU but I included all of them, so either ignore them or put them the same as I have, for example, I know BAP Strategy Adjustment has no relation to CPU vs CPU but I set it to 0/100 anyway.

    - My team is the Arizona Coyotes which I moved to Seattle. I say this because I'm currently rebuilding them. The team is competitive but not a powerhouse, so these sliders may not work if you have a really good team going up against the other teams in the league. Just something to think about.

    - I'm still constantly trying to get the feeling of the penalties right. It's hard to find a middle ground between penalties almost every minute, to 1 penalty a game.

    - I haven't come across really any fights yet but that really doesn't bother me at all.

    - I still feel there could be some tweaks done, so if you try these out and find some adjustments that may be better, please feel free to share them.

Okay, now before I give the sliders I just want to say that I feel like I found a pretty good realistic feel, the exact numbers may not match perfectly, but I feel the shots, hits, passing %, faceoffs, and goals per game feel really good compared to how the time settings are set up.

    Now on to the sliders:

(Again, this is for CPU vs CPU so I have the CPU and Human sliders set to the same length. It makes my OCD feel better)

    PENALTIES
(With these settings, you're mostly going to get Slashing and Hooking calls, but based on the way the game is engineered and the player movements, this seems to be one of the downsides of NHL 17. However, if you ignore the type of calls and just focus on the amount of penalties, you should be satisfied to an extent.)

I did one game with these. I was PITT playing against Nashville. Beat them 4-0.

I like that my team scored as many goals as they did and that it was also a shut out. I'll have to test more games, but liking what I see so far.

Thanks for checking them out. I did a few tiny tweaks I'll post later.

Sorry it took me a couple days to reply.

I updated the original post with the changes. Let me know how it works out, and if you made any changes yourself (especially to the penalties to make them more realistic) let me know that also.

I would put game speed at 3 or 4 to get that "visual" representation. Plus, i think it helps with what look like players skating in mud.

I also have my penalty slider at 4/4. I see a decent amount of penalties.

I have far too many penalties in the game. Every minute there are penalties. Have already tried everything possible - without success

I haven't had that issue. Make sure all your specific penalties are all under 50.

I guess I forgot to add that in there.

                    My game speed is 3/6

Are your penalties set at 2/4 in the RULES section?
And then copy how I have the sliders under PENALTIES:

                      CPU Penalties: 40/100
                      CPU Teammate Penalties: 40/100

                      High Sticking: 38/100
                      Cross Checking: 48/100
                      Boarding: 16/100
                      Charging: 50/100
                      Delay of Game: 38/100
                      Holding: 26/100
                      Hooking: 18/100
                      Interference: 26/100

Did you make sure to save them last time you set it up?
That's all I can really think of besides maybe you have a different gameplay version running?

If you still have the same problem then I'm really not sure what is causing it...

Thanks for the answer. The only thing that was different with me was the setting under RULES 1/4. Have now adjusted to 2/4 and less penalties. But I do not quite understand.

I tried your settings for 2 games so far and found that I liked the way the game plays. Lots of scrambled play and battles for loose pucks compared to what I was using before. I use position lock on defense and the only thing I changed was from superstar to all-star. The cpu was getting too many shots on superstar as I was having a harder time defending. I haven't had a shoot out in the 2 games played, but I did see 2 players with breakaways that lost the puck and never got a shot away, one being Jonathan Toews. Maybe just a glitch. The settings you made seem to be good and I'm not sure why. I'll wait to see what happens in the next 10 games or so. Anyway nice job and it gives a new feel to a game I haven't played in awhile.
