How Can I Actually Play 2K17?

The game never progresses past the loading screen (Xbox One). I get one of two things happening.

    1) Something about corrupt files needing to be overwritten. No idea how to fix this.

    or

    2) The basketball in the bottom right just keeps spinning and nothing happens. Waited over 30 minutes and still nothing.

I don't have an XBOX one, but have you tried the following in the exact order:

    (1) Disconnect from the internet under your xbox network setting; go offline.
    (2) Start NBA 2k17, wait until it gets pass the loading screens, so you see Chris Paul dribbling the ball.
    (3) You can either stay playing 2k17 in offline mode, OR
    (4) Reconnect and go back online while the game is still running.
    (5) Hopefully, now you can proceed to play 2k17.

Just a guess. Hopefully it'll work. Good luck. Report back.

      Create 2k service ticket
Follow up on twitter at 2k support
Give 2k the service ticket number you were given initially
Get restart your console and reset router directions from 2k
When this doesn't work your corrupt my career files will still be visible
Create another worthless service ticket and repeat process over again
See you on September 15th when you drop the next $60

Try shutting down the XBox by holding the power button on the front for 10 seconds; that should do a hard power cycle (when you turn it back on, it'll go through the green XBox One loading screen and take longer than normal to start up).

If that doesn't work, do the same thing, but unplug the power cable from the back and plug it back in before turning it back on.

If that fails as well, you may need to delete the game and reinstall it.

          Planned obsolescence. Your game expired.

Going offline worked. It allowed me to load the game, then I deleted my saved roster and MyGM, and I have been able to play since then. Apparently it was either my roster or MyGM save that was causing the problem.

            Thanks for the suggestions everyone!
