Your presentation is progressing really quickly.
Glad you like the recruiting. I like this format, so it'll stay this way. I'm hyped for Freeman too. Lockdown guy. He's better than our best corner already.

Hollis is a monster. He's always open. Like, teams will have a guy over the top, and Hollis will just outrun him. He's lethal when he can actually catch the ball. Akron is the only team that's contained him so far, and even then he had that 83 yard run on the jet sweep.

    Thanks for checking in.

99 COMBINED POINTS AS SWARM FALL 65-34 TO OREGON STATE

Hollis' 4 scores. Clockwise, from top left: Breaks a tackle and runs to the endzone (76 yards), blown coverage leaves him open (75 yards), another blown coverage leaves him open (63 yards), and finally, he gets his feet down in the back of the endzone (26 yards).

Hollis sets FBS record with 428 yards, catches 4 scores -- Swarm run football just 5 times all game -- Chandler throws for 521 yards, 4 TD, but costs team with 4 INT -- Beavers rack up 7 sacks, including 4 from end Sumner Houston

Akron, OH -- The Westlake State Swarm lost for the 5th time this season, in the highest scoring game in the program's short history, falling 65-34 to the Oregon State Beavers. The game saw over 900 yards of total offense, and over 1200 all-purpose yards.

The Darrel Garretson-led Beavers jumped out to a 17-7 lead after the first quarter, with a pick 6 from FS Brandon Arnold, a TD run from Garretson, and a 55 yard field goal from kicker Garrett Owens, 1 of 4 50 yard kicks he hit on the day. The Swarm's points came on a 76 yard pass to Ronald Hollis, who broke a tackle and ran all the way to the endzone.

That was just the beginning for Hollis, who would catch another long touchdown, this time a 75 yard score thanks to a blown coverage courtesy of an OSU safety. He would rack up 300 yards in just the first half, on his way to an FBS-record 428 yards. He tacked on 4 scores as well.

Hollis stretches out for a 44 yard grab. He averaged nearly 40 yards a catch on the day, and had 8 catches of over 40 yards.

        Banks on Hollis' performance:

Insane. He was insane. I've never seen anything like it. He was just open so much, straight burning guys. I really believe he's as good as anyone in the nation. This is like the 4th straight week he's set a school receiving record. You know he has twice as many yards as the guy in second place right now? If we could run the football better, we'd be a 6-7 win team at least. Our execution blocking wise, both passing and running, needs to improve. Ayo got sacked 7 times today, and had to roll out way too often.

One of the whopping 7 sacks Oregon State racked up

Owens kicked 2 long field goals in the quarter to send the Beavers to halftime up 23-21. Then the 3rd quarter started, and it all fell apart.

24 points were scored by Oregon State in the quarter, starting with a 101 yard kick return score from diminutive wideout Xavier Hawkins. Ayo Chandler threw a pick, and Garretson would find his tight end Noah Togiai wide open for a score on the ensuing drive. Another pick from Chandler set up a drive that ended with a goal line TD from backup tailback Paul Lucas, in for the injured Ryan Nall, who left with an undisclosed upper body injury.

Hawkins had daylight after breaking a tackle from senior Swarm safety Jay London

        Chandler on his interceptions:

It was just being anxious and overaggressive to tell you the truth. I was trying too hard to make plays, I was forcing it to Hollis, and that caused some picks that were just stupid.
Ronald Hollis would end the quarter on a high note for the Swarm, after he caught a 63 yard score to set the school record for single game receiving scores.

Oregon State would cement their lead in the 4th quarter, kicking a field goal and scoring a TD, on another pass to Togiai, to make it a 58-28 game with under 5 minutes to go. Hollis would tack on his 4th score of the day on the ensuing Swarm drive, catching a 26 yard pass in the back of the endzone. These points proved to be the last of the day for Westlake State, as after a Jordan Villamin TD made it 65 points for the Beavers, the Swarm were forced to punt, and Oregon State kneeled it out.

The Swarm go on the road for the first time in a while, to play future MAC foe Buffalo (4-1, 1-1 MAC) next week.

This game was nuts. I don't think I've ever had a QB go for 500 yards and lose. We have no run game whatsoever. Offensive line is so garbage it's not even funny. Don't really have anyone good coming in either.

Here's something crazy: Hollis has 1200+ yards right now. The next closest guy has 497. He is our entire offense. He has 16 drops already though. Passing wise, Chandler leads the nation by like 200 yards, but he leads in picks and is only completing 55%, so not really doing all that well. We need to beat Buffalo. Miami, SJ State, Wisconsin coming up, we need to beat teams like Buffalo, Colorado State (play them later too). I think we'll finish with 3 wins. I'll have a final recruiting update after the next 3 or so games, then a season wrap up at the end of the year for the Swarm, as well as a general one.

I've never seen the CPU flat out blow coverages like I saw in that game. Not only that, but Hollis just flat out outran guys a lot. Could easily have had 500-600 yards if Chandler didn't overthrow a couple deep balls.

despite the loss, it's got to feel good to hang 34 points on a PAC-12 opponent. Hollis is flat out tearing it up.

It does feel good. I don't even care that I gave up 65, passing offense is looking great and should be nice next year. Chandler has thrown the ball pretty well, surprisingly. Just wish we had a run game. Still searching for our impact QB.

Defense should also be better. I have 2 more recruits I haven't talked about yet, JUCO DT from Florida, and a DE, forget where he's from. If I can get them, theyll start right away. Combine that with the corners I have coming in, Doyle the OLB looks pretty nice, and our defense will be pretty good by 2016 or so. And we have Dre'Mont Jones eligible next year, he'll be high 80s.

Hollis is just ridiculous. Drops a ton of easy ones, but he's just open so much. Our lack of a run game, and the fact that he's by far our best receiver are definitely inflating those numbers. No one else to really target. Ben Reid and Tristan Little don't get open the way he does. Can't wait to get McGrew next year (hopefully I'm not jinxing it, we have a big lead on him tho), be able to spread the defense out. Still crazy that he has 1200+ yards at the halfway mark. 2000 is possible for him. Probably drop 30 balls tho.

Swarm sign 4 recruits -- Senior end Marty Knox's season over due to NCAA rule violation -- Junior DT Taylor Melton out for season due to torn ACL

4 recruits commit to Westlake State

                Chris Miller

Some good came out of the Swarm's blowout loss this past week: 4 recruits who visited saw enough to want to commit.

1 star JUCO(JR) DT Chris Miller (#169, 6'6, 290, 5.18 40, 420 bench), 1 star K Lance Moore (#31, 80 KPW, 58 KAC), 2 star DE Tyrone Bush (#154, 5'11, 211, 4.9 40, 360 bench) and 2 star TE Kenny Jackson (#76, 6'1, 229, 4.62 40) will play their football in Westlake next season. Bush will likely redshirt, to gain size, but the others will likely see time in their first season.

SENIOR DE MARTY KNOX SUSPENDED FOR SEASON

Marty Knox has been suspended for the remainder of his senior season due to an undisclosed NCAA rules violation, a WSU football representative told us yesterday. The backup end is a run stuffer who provides size and is able to wreak havoc against weaker tackles when he's on the field. "His season numbers [4 TAK, 3 for loss, 1 sack] don't do him justice. He's a run stuffer who can get to the QB too. Guys avoid him when he's out there." said Coach Banks on the impact the suspension will have.

DT TAYLOR MELTON TEARS ACL IN PRACTICE,
                WILL MISS REMAINDER OF SEASON

                Junior DT Taylor Melton

The Swarm defensive line has been hit hard this week. First Marty Knox violated NCAA rules, and now starting DT Taylor Melton has reportedly torn his right ACL in a scrimmage.

Melton was making a routine play, attempting to get off a block, when he crumpled to the ground. He stayed down, and was seen grimacing in pain, and unable to walk unassisted.

Melton will miss anywhere from 6-8 months. He may miss time next season.

Suspensions and practice injuries aren't random. At least not right now. I used a system I found on here a while back. I've been rolling dice before games, and nothing until now. When my team's actually good I'll probably invent stuff occasionally to add some challenge.

SWARM IMPROVE TO 2-5 AFTER 31-13 WIN OVER BUFFALO

Left to right: Chaz Montgomery's pick 6 and 1 of Odell Heffner's 3 sacks

Defense gives up just 230 yards -- DE Heffner with second 3 sack game of season -- Pick 6, 2 deflections for Montgomery -- Tristan Little flashes big play ability

Buffalo, NY -- Westlake State got their second win on the season, matching their 2013 total, with a rainy 31-13 road win over the Tyree Jackson-led Buffalo Bulls.

The Swarm had another strong start, with senior CB Chaz Montgomery jumping a screen, and taking it to the house. Montgomery's pick seemed to set the tone for the pass defense, as Jackson would throw for just 177 yards on 36 attempts, had 2 passes picked off, and a number fall incomplete.

Buffalo would kick a 34 yard field goal on their next drive, courtesy of kicker Andy Mitcheson. The Swarm retaliated with their own field goal a few drives later, but an Ayo Chandler pick would give Buffalo a short field, and tailback Emmanuel Reed would score from 14 yards out to tie up the game. A few stops were traded, and with 38 seconds to go in the half, a 48 yard catch and run from Tristan Little gave the Swarm a 17-10 lead heading into the break.

The 2nd half was very defensive. The Swarm's defense stepped up, led by 2 key 3rd down sacks by end Odell Heffner, to take the Bulls out of field goal range twice. They would allow just 3 points the entire second half. Heffner would finish with 3 sacks on the day. Tristan Little again showed his ability to make plays, with an 18 yard catch where he scored after breaking 2 tackles.

Tristan Little crosses the goal line for a touchdown

Little, along with Jamarcus Brink, were key for the Swarm's intermediate pass game, finishing with 94 and 56 yards respectively as star wideout Ronald Hollis was bracketed all day, taking away the deep ball. He still managed 10 grabs for 115 yards, though he did drop 3 balls, taking his drop total on the year to a whopping 19 through just 7 games.

A pick from safety Leigh McDowell would set up a Stanford Kane rushing score that put the game out of reach. However, Kane got hit late on the play and broke his ribs. He's expected to miss 1 week.

Bittersweet: Kane gets a well deserved rushing score, but he will miss next week's game at Miami

                        Banks on the win:
Overall, a real good win. Our defense stepped it up big time today. Our offense did what we usually do: put up 30 some odd points. Tristan and Jamarcus stepped up today when we couldn't find Hollis deep. Stanford gave us a few catches, even tough we didn't run him very much. He's a good ballcarrier, I just wish we could give it to him more.

We're making strides as a team. We're putting up points this year, not getting blown out the way we did last year. We have some good guys on the roster, I think we can win 2 or 3 of our last 5 games. Maybe we could even get bowl eligible. That'd be something.
The Swarm go on the road next week to face #2 Miami (7-0, 4-0 ACC).

This Miami game is gonna be a murder. We can't run on bad teams. I'm not going to call a single run play against Miami. Maybe a sneak on 3rd/4th and short. Just hoping the CPU doesn't bracket Hollis on deep balls again.

Probably gonna end up supersimming the second half lol. I'll have a final recruiting update, and a look ahead at some future prospects, after either Miami or Colorado State. I go back to school in 2 weeks, and once school starts, the pacing of this will be pretty slow. 2 games a week at most, but I'll be able to do previews and recaps and stuff.

Also, I'll sometimes be editing player weights and ratings. Both for me and y opponent. I'll give really light, weak guys 10-15 pounds and 4-5 points of strength after their freshman year. And if I see ratings that make absolutely no sense (scrambling QB's ballcarrier ratings come to mind) I'll bump them a bit. Nothing crazy, but just to make it more realistic. I'll also be editing players names, numbers, apperance, equipment down the line. I hate facing teams that have a black kicker and punter, then will have 2 white guys at corner, a white running back, and 2-3 white wideouts, all wearing NFL numbers as well. Just doesn't feel real. And the names get generic, so adding Jr., III, even outright changing a name makes guys more unique.

SWARM TAKE 70-7 BEATDOWN IN MIAMI

Brad Kaaya racks up 328 yards, 4 scores in first half -- Ayo Chandler struggles mightily, completing just 14 of 41 passes -- Donte Williams spells injured Chandler, throws for first career score -- Ronald Hollis drops 7 balls

Heisman candidate QB Brad Kaaya hooked up with star wideout Ahmon Richards for this score on the Hurricanes' opening drive

Miami Gardens, FL -- Well we all saw this one coming. Westlake State fell to 2-6 on the year with a crushing 70-7 blowout at the hands of #2 Miami.

The Brad Kaaya-led Hurricanes were just far too good for the Swarm, as the leading Heisman candidate added to his case, throwing for 328 yards and 4 scores in just one half, bringing his season totals to 2274 yards and 26 scores, with just 6 picks. He currently trails only Westlake State's Ayo Chandler in passing yards, and leads the nation in touchdowns.

Behind the arm of Kaaya, and 3 rushing scores, 1 from Kaaya himself, and 2 from tailback Mike Walton, Miami was up 48-0 at the half.

It didn't get any better in the second half. The Hurricanes brought in their backups on offense. Westlake got their first stop of the day, but promptly gave up a safety after a great punt pinned them inside their own 3. 2 field goals and a Trayvone Gray rushing TD later, Westlake State found themselves down 63-0 after 45 minutes of football.

Swarm QB Ayo Chandler was hit as he threw a 26 yard pass to Ronald Hollis, who had 5 grabs on the day, but dropped 7 balls. That set up a 4 yard score, a true freshman connection as QB Donte Williams threw a TD to Ben Reid on his first career pass.

Ronald Hollis' 26 yard grab set up Ben Reid's 4 yard TD, his 3rd on the year

Westlake State return to Akron, to play Colorado State (4-4, 2-3 MWC). 3 star CB Jermaine McBride (#115) and 3 star wideout Spencer McGrew (#85) visit this week.

good win against Buffalo, tough game against Miami but it's expected. It's hard to pull off anything against power 5 teams like that.
