Rebounding
Rebounding is way to reliant on height whether it be in regular games or Pro Am. Players shouldn't be rewarded with 20 rebounds just because they are 7 3. My idea is to bring back offensive goaltending from a few years back. Jumping as soon as the shooter releases the ball should result in goaltending. Will force players to actually time rebounds. Bring some skill back to it.Nobody exists on purpose, nobody belongs anywhere, everybody is gonna die, come watch TV.- MortyTags: None -
Re: Rebounding
I kinda feel you, but the game of basketball has always been about height for a reason. Being easier to score at that height as no one can block your shot and to get to the ball before anyone else. Stats are already inflated in Pro Am because of ratings and the fact it's a video game. You honestly expect a high rated 7'3" player not to grab near 20? Andre Drummond is averaging like 15rpg this year.

Neither are any of the leading rebounded in the league.
There have only been 25 players that were 7'3" in the history of the NBA. Most of which never amounted to anything.

Re: Rebounding
* Clears throat * again why does 2k even have 7’3 centers in pro am ? The limit should be 7’1 . Hell the average center is 6’11 today. Do you know how much more skill would be involved if centers were actually 7’1 in pro am? You would see more guards getting boards for one. Floor spacing would be better .#1 Laker fan

Re: Rebounding
Been trying to figure out methods to get my normal size MyPlayer C (7'0) to not get cheated out of rebounds by players that are behind me. I'm going to start recording my contested rebound attempts from now on and put the vids here.
Has anyone experimented with using turbo while trying to get boards? I tried using it in one game last night and it "seemed" to make my guy jump higher for boards, but it could just be my imagination.Comment

Re: Rebounding
I'm pretty sure holding turbo is making my guy jump higher for boards. But it doesn't matter if I get an animation where he gives up on getting the ball mid flight -__-

EDIT: Starting to think it's less about the 7'3 players being OP and more about regular sized bigmen getting bad animations at a higher clip regardless of how good their positioning is.
The amount of slow jumping, arm flailing, give up on the play animations I get is ridiculous. I shouldn't need Gold hustle rebounder to get a board like this^^^^ right? I earned the better position. It's a routine play.Last edited by MrBallaBoy21; 11-26-2017, 07:32 PM.Comment

Re: Rebounding
probably impossible to make a 7'3 bad at rebounding on a video game lol
7'3 have dominated way back to 2k10 days when there were 7'5 myplayersComment

Re: Rebounding
In real life 7'3 guys don't dominate because they have high center of gravity, weaker overall strength, poorer hand eye coordination, low verticals and are slow.
Really good short rebounders beat tall rebounders by using their lower center of gravity to butt the guy out of the way, like Barkley. Plus the tall guys are much more likely to fumble/bobble the ball due to worse coordination. All of this COULD be modeled by 2k. It just isn't.
Almost certainly the best 'really tall' center ever was Yao Ming, and he only averaged 9.2 RPG in his career playing 32+ minutes a night.Comment

Re: Rebounding
So my player is 6'11 and the guy i was guarding was 7'3. He grabbed a defensive rebound and decided to go coast to coast. Thing is, i was holding down sprint while chasing him down the court and he still beat me to the opposite end. How is that even possible? My primary is driving and finishing so I've got some speed on my guy but I have no clue how a guy that tall should be moving so quickly.Comment

I've noticed this too. It also drives me nuts that my 99 steal, silver pick pocket can't take the ball away from that big man trying to go coast to coast.Comment
