Fightmetric accuracy numbers don't tell the whole story to me, because they don't differentiate between clean and glancing shots, it's just a binary percentage, but I take your point. I also didn't mean to imply that he has bad accuracy or footwork, I just meant that they aren't exactly incredible, not bad or anything, but Woodley never comes to mind for incredible footwork or striking accuracy. All I was saying is that Woodley having 2 really good striking stats (speed and power), 2 middling ones (footwork and accuracy) and a bad one (switch stance), it doesn't surprise me that it averages at 90.
Like, if his speed and power are 97 and 96, his footwork and accuracy are 88 and 89 and his switch stance is 82, that would average out to 90.4 and none of those jump out to me as awful or unfair for Woodley. To be clear, those numbers are just guesses that would average to 90, I have no idea what his stats actually are.

I think the accuracy stat would be too low there. The footwork is something I'd have to look at more fight footage for. But I mean... Think about Woodley fights... Do you recall him whiffing that much? When he flurries and bursts forward... He often lands. Landed a lot of body punches against Thompson too. He's very good at doing just enough. As far as the punches often being glancing shots... Eh. Not sure how much I'd agree with that. He often lands pretty flush.
Seems pretty damn accurate to me. I guess we're chalking this one up to racism.
