Power Pro 2018 has been released

Available for PS4 & VITA. This is the first full release since 2016. New Playstation VR enabled camera views.

    Konami Website info:

    パワプロシリーズ最新作、「実況パワフルプロ野球2018」PS4,PS Vitaで発売中!

    Available for purchase at: <a href="http://www.play-asia.com/paOScore/19-15-"Jikkyou+Powerful+Pro+Yakyuu+2018"-18-2.html?affiliate_id=876907">Play Asia</a>

The game is translated on our site and there has been a name change. You can find us now at:

    <a href="http://www.pawatranslation.com">PAWATRANSLATION.COM</a>

For a variety of reasons there will not be any heavy duty translations this year, but you can navigate your way through core gameplay by using our older translations along with google translate. The site was built for the 2012 version with certain updates for the 2014 & 2016 versions. In areas where major updates weren't necessary (menu tweaks etc) I'd put them up in our forum so check there as well if you need help.

I don't have the PS4 version yet but as usual the VITA version is outstanding. For those not familiar both Pro Yakyuu Spirits & Power Pro are the best VITA games in the world.

VITA graphics in 2018 much improved, here two screens of 2018 followed by two of 2016 so you can see the difference:

Thanks ST, have the PS4 version ordered through Play Asia and still playing a season with 2016 with MLB teams. Wasn't sure if I would be able to find a translation guide for this one. Thanks again!

Found this site that talks about different aspects on the new game. Best to open using chrome then you get translations.

I'm interested in how the "International Convention" is used in pennant mode.

ST- Other than the graphics, is the game improved in enough areas to be worthy of an upgrade? I have 2016 on PS4 and Vita and I'm not sure if the game has enough improvements for me to shell out another $80+.

Re: Power Pro 2018 has been released

Nice find Will, the international tournament looks intriguing.

@Throwback: it's hard to say right now. With PYS some of the older versions are arguably better, but with 'PP' I feel that each version gets a little better. Kind of like with cell phones, pretty expensive to upgrade every year so I usually do it every 2nd or 3rd new generation.

Keep in mind we can basically only play Exhibition & Pennant. For that we can expect better graphics, animation and lots of new special skills. And again for PS4 users PS VR is capability new. I haven't looked into skills yet and animation will take some play time to really see the difference.

Also, last I heard Muka (our Japanese translator) has a new career that keeps him really busy. So please keep in mind 2018 will not be getting much translation work. I'm like the rest of you guys where I use the existing translations in combination with google translate to navigate around.

Personally, there are a few people getting the PS4 version so I'm sticking with VITA for now until I hear their impressions.

Re: Power Pro 2018 has been released

I found the International Game - a "WBC" style mode in Pennant every 4 years, the first being just prior to the 2021 season. The bad news is that USA player names are fictional, I guess that's why they call it the IG.

For example the catcher's name is Pierio. There's a guy by that name who was a retired wrestler and apparently was popular in Japan - his nickname was "Rambo." More details and roster names to come when time permits.

They added an 'INSTANT REPLAY' button in the pause menu which is nice. If you click it more than once you can see different camera angles of the last play. It's the bottom left button.

And here is the USA team lineup versus a Right Handed Pitcher. Ratings and bats L or R is noted.

Looks good but the price is still a little steep for me. If Konami would at least include the option for the Stats & Player's Abilities in English I'd be all over it. And why are the older version of this game never discounted?

Do any of the current NPB foreigners play for their respective countries teams? I understand most of the US players in the NPB wound't be good enough to play on the US team but someone like Balentien should be able to be on the Netherlands team.

i love the konami games. Because they allow you to see the flight of the ball after contact with the bat in the behind the pitcher camera. Looks so much better than cutting the camera away too quick.

After beating USA 10-8 I'm now playing in the Championship game versus the Netherlands. No Balentien, it's just a fictional tournament with fictional players. Except the Japan team because prior to the start you can choose players for the team.

Netherlands is nasty with four "S" and three "A" rated power hitters. I'm in the 3rd inning and not doing well.

The hit variety in these games in so perfect - seeing everything you can imagine.
