That's strange. Are you playing it on the 360? It works for me on the PS3 version. I even started up a game as Vegas against the Kings to test it.

I've set it up on 360 without problems. Working fine. In fact, I started my playoff last night with the created Nashville, Winnipeg, and Vegas.

One of the great things about the PS2/Original XBox versions of the 2K games was the offseason prospects game. You could watch the draft prospects play every offseason before you got to the draft itself.

I decided to simulate this by importing a bunch of fully-developed versions of players I created for the 2018 draft into my rosters. They are on the Eastern and Western All-Star teams, so you can play a prospects game or series with them. Note that their current ratings are projections, and will NOT be their final ratings in next year's rosters, as some of them are years away from making an impact in the NHL. (However, don't take the goalie ratings seriously... I just wanted them to stop pucks.)

I will eventually remove these teams. It's kind of like how I included Austria's national team in certain versions of last year's rosters, but eventually eliminated it to make room for NHL players. (Probably no one even noticed it!)

As for the prospects that are gonna be implemented, how does the scouting work? do these players become available in Free Agents in Season?

There's no actual scouting. This is just for fun, so that you can play a game or series as the top prospects leading up to the draft. It wouldn't make sense to make them available in Season mode either, because they are all rated as if they were fully developed pros, but they are all 17 to 18 years old. Of course you could move them to teams with the editor if you wanted to, but it would be totally unrealistic. If I do rosters next season I'll add all of them to the teams that draft them, but obviously with severely nerfed ratings.

Just an update: there probably won't be new updates in this thread as I've started work on 2019 rosters. So far three teams are done (ANA, ARZ, BOS).

Some changes I've made other than just ratings:
- The 2019 rosters will be more consistent with player ages. Players will now have their exact age as of October 1 of the new season.
- Removing visors for vets that don't wear them.
- New players (So far: Ilya Lyubushkin, Troy Terry, Casey Mittelstadt, Ryan Donato, Nick Merkley, among others...)
- Assigning veteran status to new players.
- Adding custom faces in for the players that didn't have them last season.
- Goalie equipment updates as always.
- Unsigned RFAs clearly marked with "NEW" status.

Since there are so many rating changes and other details, the next update will be posted in a new thread for the 2018-2019 season.

I was surprised to find a video someone posted using these rosters on PC. A bit glitchy, but pretty cool. I wasn't aware PS3 emulation had come this far.

(For some reason it shows the wrong jerseys for Vancouver. I guess a lot of people don't realize that their current jerseys are unlockable in the game.)
