I don't believe this. I just went on to 2k this morning, I have 3 copies of save files for this game. Only 1 remains now... I saved one or two things and then looked and two save files were gone. This happened me in 2k17 and 2k16 after the season was over. I was onto 2k help for months on end and couldn't get it fixed. I'm scared to do anything right now. I have seen this become an issue with people on various forums. I've checked in the folder on my pc, and there are two save files still there, but only one showing up... Wish me luck in getting this sorted.

Wizards go 0-3 heading into All Star Break
Wizards go 0-3 heading into All Star Break, despite Jordans effort.
February 15th, 2002 | by NBA.COM
Jordan returned to the United Center in Chicago this week, but despite 26 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists and a steal, the Bulls grabbed a 7 point win. No special introduction for Michael, just business as usual. The Chicago fans gave Jordan a loud cheer, but this didn't continue throughout the game. This is the first sell out for the Bulls in 2002, as their team slowly slides down to the bottom of the Eastern Conference without a trace.
The Wizards had already lost to Boston this week again, as Paul Pierce seems to be the only one Jordan can't get the better off regularly. Antoine Walker hit 30 pts and again scorched the Wizards defense from deep. Jordan's 15 points were never going to be enough. Christian Laettner brought the fight with 21 points and 12 rebounds, but only Laettner and Rip Hamilton played any way well for the Wizards who looked fatigued all night.
The third Wizards game was a trip to MSG. The Knicks who seem to be tearing it all down with the trade of Sprewell and Camby shocked the Wizards last night. Led by stalwart Allan Houston and his 24 points the Knicks pulled off a surprising win. Knick legend John Starks matched up on Jordan for a few minutes, and tried to slow him down. Starks, Donyell Marshall, Greg Ostertag and Byron Russell all made their debuts, and brought a renewed sense of fight to MSG.

I've had this happen for me from time to time -- have you made any changes to team branding recently? The issue for me was that I had a lot of teams rebranding in my save file and that was preventing the game from actually writing the save.
2K says that you can "Only have 10 save files max between MyGM, MyLeague, and MyCareer" but the number is lower than that from my experience -- right now, with a couple of rebrands in each save file, I can get a max of four.
And what's really dumb about it is that the files are saved in some sort of predetermined order -- so for example if I have a save file 1, a save file 2, and a save file 3, but I delete 3 and then save another file that save file isn't 3 -- it's 4.
Somewhere in the 2K saves there appears to be some sort of increment mechanism that doesn't account for deleted files, I think.
Backup up your saves folder and if you have cloud saves enabled on Steam you might be able to pull the other files (but I've never been able to get them to work again).
Once you have that saves folder backed up, try saving your current file into a new slot and then back out to the main menu and look to see if it actually took it -- even though the little basketball save icon goes while in the file, a lot of times it doesn't take if a max memory limit has been reached.
Admittedly, this is all guess work, but it's what I've found so far in my experience. Hopefully it can be of some help to you.Comment

When i made the roster i used cheat engine to assign all the uniforms, but as soon as i saved the myleague, the 2k servers reset all of that and i was back to current unis...keep having to redo the cheat engine work but i often forget.Comment

Re: One Last Shot: Jordan's Final Chapter.
Knicks are still in cap hell with Houston, Ward, Anderson and Eisley anyway for next 3 years! With them doing so badly something had to give...
I figured the Jazz wouldn't give up a 2002 draft pick incase they can't turn this season around. They gave up 2003 because they figure with time they will get it together. Sprewell will only be 32, Kirilenko 21, Camby 27 and a lottery pick if they don't make it this year. Stock and Malone have 2 years left and it would be a major shock to not make the playoffs next season after just missing out this year. They also have some cap opening to sign 1 rotation player.
Well I think Penny and McGrady could work together. If Hill gets back they have serious length. Worst case they are going to get a good pick this summer, if its Jay Williams for example, Penny can mentor him.Comment

2002 All Star Weekend
Jordan almost leads East to victory, Bryant hits game winner.
February 18th, 2002
In a game marred by Garnett and Nowitzki barely playing, at least we got a duel for the times between Jordan and Kobe. Garnett and Nowitzki were carrying minor injuries this weekend, but didn't want to give up their places. They played a combined 19 minutes, which the fans weren't best pleased about. Garnett in particular was a starter, and only played 3 minutes before coming off. Garnett was concerned with giving up his spot as he was a starter, but conscious of the Timberwolves race for #1 spot in the West.
Regardless of all that, Jordan turned back the clock with an excellent performance. 28 points and hitting what he thought was the game winner with 10 seconds left. Kobe Bryant would go straight back up the other end and sink a three from the corner to win the game for the West. In a game that actually featured defense, fans got to see the stars go at it on both ends. Very refreshing to see. Long may it continue.
In the Slam Dunk Contest Jason Richardson thrilled the masses on his way to becoming the new slam dunk king. He threw down several ferocious dunks to outlast Seattle's high flyer Desmond Mason. Perhaps the best dunk was a between the legs slam by Richardson in a performance that impressed onlooker Vince Carter.
Chris Mullin shocked Philly by winning the 3 point contest. Mully's great shooting season reached his peak tonight as he continued his great season of shooting with Jordan's Wizards. A great throwback and one for the ages.

Games Thru March 31st
Jordan and Hamilton lead Wizards to playoffs.
March 31st, 2002 | by NBA.COM
The Washington Wizards returned to the playoffs this month and are in with a shout of a #1 seed. The Wizards have had a rollercoaster month, but luckily the rest of the East has ebbed and the flowed the same way. Highlights of the last months play where, big wins over Milwaukee, Indiana, Minnesota, Charlotte and Miami.
Big time performances came mainly from Jordan and Rip Hamilton. The midrange maestros torched teams for averages of over 22 ppg. Jordan's 25 against the Heat, 30 against the Timberwolves, 25 against the Nuggets or 34 against the Pistons were a small sample of Jordan's elevated level this month. Jordan draws a double team in the post now every night, and when that happens it's game on for the Wizards.
Rip Hamilton see's a green light to run off screens to get open for Jordan's kickouts or Ewing high post action. Hamilton hit some big numbers himself, 33 vs the Raptors, 32 vs the Heat and 28 vs the Knicks were probably his best performances. Hamilton's defense has really stepped up and he has been buying into the Jordan ethos on that end too. When Hamilton and Jordan hit over 20, the Wizards win.
Christian Laettner has been pulling down double-doubles nightly (13.6ppg and 10.2rpg) and he has been a much needed third scoring option for Jordan and Hamilton. Some nights like 20 points and 11 boards vs the 76ers, 20 and 10 vs the Raptors and Pacers can make all the difference in close games. Not to be completely forgotten is the stalwart Patrick Ewing. Pat came up big several times this season but in the last month his performance's against the big men of San Antonio, Charlotte and Indiana on the road really stand out.
Ewing is averaging 8.8ppg, 8.9 rpg and 1.6bpg. But that's almost a double-double threat every night or every second night. Jordan finally is getting the big man help he never had in his career. The one big man who hasn't been as much help as predicted though is Kwame Brown. Yes the postives first. His 8.2rpg, 4.1 apg and 1.5bpg have been very solid for 19.8 minutes per game. His 3.8ppg highlights the problem. He has been a solid post defender, great rebounder, and good passer. His rebounding has put him in the top 5 race for the rookie of the year, but he has no shot at winning it.
Any month you clinch a playoff spot is a good one. The record of 9-9 sums up the unpredictability of the result on a nightly basis though. Luckily for the Wizards, the East seems wide open this year. More to come on Around the League tomorrow for some major developments in the race for the playoffs.

Around the NBA - March 2002
Around the NBA - April 2002
April 1st, 2002 | by espn.com
Well what a month we have just had. Our opening picture sum's it up. Sweat and effort. And Jordan is back. For real. Jordan has led his Wizards team to the #2 seed in the Eastern Conference and they have a real shot at #1. Jordan has chosen a good time to come back, as the East is not as strong this season. Most of the top Eastern teams would only be scraping into the bottom half of the Western Conference playoff seeds.
Jordan and Rip Hamilton have been on fire this month, and as of today, when both hit 20 points, they are unbeaten this season. The key for the remainder of the regular season is to keep Jordan and Hamilton fresh. I fancy the Wizards chances at making some noise in the playoffs so long as that happens, and they get a top 3 seeding. Christian Laettner has been instrumental in giving the Wizards the fall back option incase Hamilton or Jordan are not shooting well. With a so called 'Big 3' the Wizards are going to to make this a great post season.
In what was touted as being an awful trade cap wise and win-loss column wise, Penny Hardaway has returned to the Magic, and led them back into the #8 spot. Penny chose to return to his old college number 25, and with that some of his form from his earlier days returned. Penny and Tracy McGrady have been excellent together in the backcourt. McGrady is scoring at a 29.8ppg clip, and Penny at 18.5ppg. Penny also is in the top 6 in assists in the league with averages of 7.8apg. The Magic have been on an incredible run including winning 11 in a row. Their new lineup of Penny, T-Mac, Mike Miller, Horace Grant and Andrew DeClercq has had the East running scared. Orlando really found some Magic at the right time.
Out West another team who caught lightning in a bottle where the Utah Jazz. The additions of Latrell Sprewell and Marcus Camby gave the Jazz the jolt of energy they needed to play some sweet music. They have torn through their schedule on a mad mission since the trade, and are still in reach of even a #7 seed. Stockton and Malone have renewed energy and have some really nice athletic options surrounding them. The promotion of Andrei Kirilenko to the starting lineup was also crucial, as the big Russian has been amazing defensively.
Back East again and to the Raptors. The Raptors have fought hard against Philly and Milwaukee to gain a foothold in the East playoffs. The Raps and Bucks are in, while the 76ers and Iverson are sinking without trace. Dikembe Mutombo may be in the running for Defensive player of the year, but his 7.1ppg have been a major issue. The 76ers just cant score apart from A.I.
Rashard Lewis who the Raptors gained at the deadline, has been a nice foil to Vince Carters rim rocking style. With the space provided by Vinces drives, Lewis has been left open frequently, and has been stroking the three ball very well. Lewis has 18.2ppg since the trade. Carters assist numbers have also gone up to, as he now a legitimate runnning mate. Hakeem Olajuwon has announced he will retire next season, so look for him to go out with a bang in the playoffs.
Roll on April, 5-7 regular season games remain for each team, and a lot of playoff seedings and matchups need to be determined. Strap in folks.

Hornets set to move to New Orleans
NBA Owners approve Hornets move to New Orleans.
April 6th, 2002 | by cbssports.com
Less than 2 days after clinching a playoff spot in North Carolina, the Charlotte Hornets -- the team Louisville had courted to relocate -- became the property of Louisiana.
NBA owners Friday afternoon approved a relocation application by Hornets owners George Shinn and Ray Wooldridge to move to New Orleans. The Hornets will begin play in Louisiana this fall. In the meantime, the team still has at least one more regular season game in Charlotte -- on April 8th, against the Indiana Pacers. The Hornets will then have at least two more two more playoff games at home, seeding dependent.
David Stern, the NBA commissioner, said in a press release Friday that the Louisiana political leadership and business community have laid the foundation for a successful Hornets move. The Charlotte franchise began play in 1988, leading the league in attendance through much of its first decade.
New Orleans hasn't had an NBA franchise since the New Orleans Jazz departed in 1979 for Utah. The city has an NFL team, the New Orleans Saints.
"The fans, the civic leaders and the business community of the city of New Orleans and the state of Louisiana have demonstrated their overwhelming interest in having an NBA team," Stern said.
Hornets spokesman Harold Kaufman could not be reached. Team executives plan a press conference in Louisiana later this afternoon.
Shinn and Wooldridge battled Charlotte political leaders for several years over money for a new arena. When voters rejected plans for an arena in a referendum last summer, the owners began searching for a new home. In January the Hornets applied to move to New Orleans after considering offers from Louisville, St. Louis and Norfolk, Va.
Once a regular sellout with 24,000 fans packing The Hive for home games, the Hornets lost momentum in recent seasons. Off-court ownership controversies, player arrests, the NBA lockout and the approval of an NFL team in Charlotte all chipped away at the franchise's popularity.
Wooldridge says the team lost $15 million last season and may lose twice that this year.
After avoiding franchise relocations for 16 years, the NBA has now moved teams twice in two years. Last spring, the Vancouver Grizzlies, which also considered moving to Louisville, moved to Memphis, Tenn. Apparently University of Louisville head coach Rick Pitino has been vehemently blocking an NBA team coming to Louisville, seems like he got his way after all. The relocation of the Hornets will now mean there will only be 14 teams in the Eastern Conference, and 15 in the West. One could speculate this move might bring expansion for a 30th team a step closer.Comment

Re: Hornets set to move to New Orleans
Look at those Jordan Wizards kicking tail in the East!
And the T'Wolves in the West look absolutely dominant.
Ah, that relocation of the Hornets ... one of those that never should have really happened I feel. Charlotte was always a good basketball town, the fans just hated the owner (and they had a lot of good reasons to).
Do you plan on expanding a team back there in 2004 like IRL or are you going to take it different way? Interested to see.Comment

Yea top of West with Wolves, Lakers and Kings is very strong. Garnett at small forward is beasting!
Shinn was hated by all. And probably still is in Charlotte! Imagine making the playoffs and still being relocated!!
I have a few ideas for what I'll do. There probably will be an expansion team but the details need to be ironed out. The first major crossroads for my decisions will be linked to the playoffs now. I've 3 possible story options depending on how well the Wizards do!Comment
