Re: Madden 19 Trade Discussion
That's honestly ok with me. NBA 2k has a feature where some players are just untouchable, no matter what you offer. This keeps the league balanced and stops trades that make zero sense from happening. Tough trade logic is needed in Madden. I think they should add a slider to keep everyone happy though. My Teams:
Buffalo Bills
NY Yankees
Charlotte Hornets
Syracuse OrangeComment

Re: Madden 19 Trade Discussion
Iโm sure you can do that if youโre so inclined. I think the bigger concern among guys here is whether the CPU logic is on point, not what you can do between user teams

Re: Madden 19 Trade Discussion
Getting back to Trades here's a few that I intend to make in my Offline 32 man CFM.
Let me know what you think, I try to be pretty realistic in my trades and pull ideas from web, podcasts, and my bum....however if you like or not lets discuss
Seattle Seahawks: 2019 3rd Round draft pick, Charles Tapper (DE)
Dallas Cowboys: Earl Thomas (FS)
Reasoning:
Seattle would benefit from sending Thomas to Dallas as they should not tie up cap space on a position that isnt as valuable as it once was. The Hawks havent had tons of picks in last years draft and this would help change that with extra 3rd pick and Tapper adding much needed depth to the defensive line.
Cowboys need a player like Earl Thomas to take next step in giving thier defense an identity and Tapper is pretty low on depth chart
Detroit Lions: 2019 5th Round draft pick
Arizona Cardinals: Ameer Abdullah (RB/KR/PR)
Reasoning:
Lions have indicated they are most likely moving on from Abdullah with drafting Kerryon Johnson and Cardinals would benefit with a complimentary back for JohnsonComment

I can see the earl Thomas trade maybe right before the deadline. Until then the Hawks want too much for him

Re: Madden 19 Trade Discussion
I know this isn't the most realistic trade scenario , I guess it depends on how you would look at it.
I plan on running my annual Pats cfm soon, and was thinking if the cardinals come out of the gate off to a bad start, what is a realistic trade for Larry Fitz??
I've seen a few cfm sims and Brady retires after yr 1 so I want one last chance for both of them lol

Re: Madden 19 Trade Discussion
I traded an 84 ovr punter for a 4th round pick.
Iโve tried OBJ and two firsts for Lamar and nothing. Also tried that same trade for Baker and nothing.
As far as picks go I traded up with relative ease to one and stacked 1-2-1 back to two and to three. However in another CFM I had pick 5 and 6. I could not trade down for anything decent. Pick 21 wouldnโt go 1 and 3 even. So Iโm not sure on that what it looks like. I do like the lack of stacking drafts.Comment

I would think anything more than a 4th round pick would be to much. Randi Moss was traded for a 4th round pick and while that was a few years back I think its close to what Arizona should get in compensation. I would add Arizona only does this if they are having bad year so I would do it close to trade deadline as possible.Comment

Re: Madden 19 Trade Discussion
I'm with all those who are saying harder trading is good. The fact is Patrick Peterson isn't going anywhere in real life. Von Miller probably isn't either. If EA have been able to set it up so elite players with more than a year or two on their contracts are impossible to trade for great imo. That's the NFL. It was driving me crazy watching some videos on YouTube and watching people trade for the best players on other teams, especially by sending only decent players the other way. You want Patrick Peterson - you better be sending the house over!
If they want to add a trade slider to make trading easier then fine, but this sounds very promising - with the exception of Earl Thomas who I think there should be some sort of logic to acquire given his contract situation and the Seahawks' rebuilding status. I don't know how they programme that logic into the game however
1. Champion-Teams who are either gunning for the league title or in the conference championship rounds of playoffs. Basically your stacked perenially successful teams. They all manage their rosters accordingly.
2. Contender: Solid playoff teams looking for the extra piece to put them over the top.
3. Hopeful: Teams on the cusp of the playoff picture or just barely getting in.
4. Rebuilder: Teams who have been losing a lot of games for a couple seasons or who are aging severely and losing and thus look to trade away some of its elder pieces to gain draft picks and youth potential.
I would love to see Madden have this kind of logic.

Re: Madden 19 Trade Discussion
I agree with all of this. But, there is another EA game which does build team status into its roster management and trade logic in franchise mode...NHL. In that series, teams are divided into the following statuses:
1. Champion-Teams who are either gunning for the league title or in the conference championship rounds of playoffs. Basically your stacked perenially successful teams. They all manage their rosters accordingly.
2. Contender: Solid playoff teams looking for the extra piece to put them over the top.

Re: Madden 19 Trade Discussion
I like it. My biggest beef with madden franchise is the lack of depth. This would be a nice touch and add immersion. At this point I don't care whether they take stuff from other games. There is so much they need to add.

Re: Madden 19 Trade Discussion
I actually hope Frostbite enables them to combine features across all their games. It would improve every EA game. They all do at least one or two things extremely well. If you mesh them all together, eventually we'll get some awesome gaming.
