It's great that you found an image that looks good to you, but that's not how calibration works. You don't calibrate based on specific movies/documentaries/games. You calibrate based on test patterns, with the goal being to get the whites as close to the D65 industry standard, so that you get the image that the content creator intended.

Re: Lighting Patch?
Ok, so I have done a lot of testing on this issue (loading into a ton of games, at all start times, under different conditions, etc.), and my conclusion is that the game is not properly showing "sunlight" in 1pm games in open stadiums.
Now everyone mentions a "brightness" issue, and while that is part of the problem, it is just a by-product of what I think the real problem is. Sunlight does not look like real sunlight in these 1pm games during actual gameplay. While wearing white uniforms, in a clear day, at 1pm, in a completely open stadium, the white uniforms should be extremely bright. So should the grass. But they are not. They are dull and almost grey. The weird thing is, the game is completely capable of properly recreating what this should look like. During the cut-scenes of those games, everything looks a lot better. And the BEST representation of what sunlight should look like is if you play in the Colts stadium, at 1pm, clear day, with the roof open. In that scenario, the sunlight streaming down from the roof in certain spots on the field is blindingly bright! It looks like real sunlight. Stand in that spot wearing a white uniform and it is so bright, it looks exactly how it should. But in a fully open stadium, clear skies, 1pm, you do not get that effect at all during gameplay. Something is definitely wrong.
Night games do not have any problems and they look glorious. When the lighting works correctly, this is the best looking sports game I have ever seen. But those 1pm open stadium games need to properly render that super bright sunlight, which the game clearly has the capability to do.
For the record I play on an Xbox One X and have an LG OLED tv, which has given me the best HDR gaming I have ever experienced in my life.
The default time/weather setting on a "play now" or whatever game is 4pm/partly cloudy. It seems like for whatever reason, changing this to 1pm/clear doesn't actually do so. The sky box very clearly has clouds, and the lighting is not from overhead as it should be at the start of the game, which is very clearly seen just by how long the shadows are. Sure seems like a bug, though it's odd that something like that would make it through.Comment

Re: Lighting Patch?
I'm very curious to how the upcoming patches will change this game, because this game did come out a few weeks earlier then usual and them releasing a beta version wasn't the norm either. As good as this game looks graphically it will go over the top if these lighting issues get addressed.Comment

If someone here likes their picture, and I’ve helped in the slightest, I’m happy for them whether I think it’s looks good or not. I don’t mean to sound rude, that’s not my intention. Re: Lighting Patch?
This would be correct, but this is OS not AVS Forums. I think many of the users here are looking for a happy medium not the industry standard. I think we all enjoy sharing ideals and helping each other achieve a better gaming experience .

Re: Lighting Patch?
Im actually pretty happy with this image. I think EA has always struggled with their playing surfaces color palette atleast in Madden. Never really gets that real NFL stadium look imo.

Re: Lighting Patch?
I agree, but i think the Steelers stadium is easily one of the best looking ones in the game. The main issue with the lighting is the other stadiums. If the steelers and packers lighting was consistent in all the other stadiums there wouldn't be any issue.Comment

Get ready to squintI'm waiting to start my Eagles CFM until the official roster comes out before week 1 so they've got plenty of time to fix it up. Hoping they make it a priority.

Re: Lighting Patch?
I 100% agree about Colts stadium at 1pm open and clear skies. Absolutely beautiful. On the downside...I was playing head to head online last night. I was the Bears playing the Dolphins at Dolphin stadium day game. At tye beginning of the game it was dull and dark. Funny this is as the game progressed, the sun got brighter as well as the field. So my question is do they have something backwards? How is it possible for this to happen?"Dunks are tough, but when a 35 footer come rainin out the sky...it'll wire you up"Comment
