This pic looks great to me. I wish all the outdoor stadiums look like this at 1pm.

Now everyone mentions a "brightness" issue, and while that is part of the problem, it is just a by-product of what I think the real problem is. Sunlight does not look like real sunlight in these 1pm games during actual gameplay. While wearing white uniforms, in a clear day, at 1pm, in a completely open stadium, the white uniforms should be extremely bright. So should the grass. But they are not. They are dull and almost grey. The weird thing is, the game is completely capable of properly recreating what this should look like. During the cut-scenes of those games, everything looks a lot better. And the BEST representation of what sunlight should look like is if you play in the Colts stadium, at 1pm, clear day, with the roof open. In that scenario, the sunlight streaming down from the roof in certain spots on the field is blindingly bright! It looks like real sunlight. Stand in that spot wearing a white uniform and it is so bright, it looks exactly how it should. But in a fully open stadium, clear skies, 1pm, you do not get that effect at all during gameplay. Something is definitely wrong.

Night games do not have any problems and they look glorious. When the lighting works correctly, this is the best looking sports game I have ever seen. But those 1pm open stadium games need to properly render that super bright sunlight, which the game clearly has the capability to do.

For the record I play on an Xbox One X and have an LG OLED tv, which has given me the best HDR gaming I have ever experienced in my life.
Great analysis, I’ve also come to the same conclusion. I hope it gets patched because as you said, when the sun is actually shining in the correct position, the game looks great.

I 100% agree about Colts stadium at 1pm open and clear skies. Absolutely beautiful. On the downside...I was playing head to head online last night. I was the Bears playing the Dolphins at Dolphin stadium day game. At tye beginning of the game it was dull and dark. Funny this is as the game progressed, the sun got brighter as well as the field. So my question is do they have something backwards? How is it possible for this to happen?

Re: Lighting Patch?

I've said before I think the issue is limited to clear 1 pm games on non 4k or HDR TVs on the standard level PS4 and Xbox One consoles.

The high end TVs, PCs, and PS4 Pro/Xbox One X examples all seem fine to me.

I like to think we've narrowed this down well enough for EA to fix. Anyone agree??

I think it’s happening on all platforms and TV’s. I was playing at Dallas, 4:15 open roof, and it was so dark you’d thought the power was off. This games has so many issues...it’s unreal. I’ve had the sound cut out, game crash trying to trim a video, and a few freeze ups.

When the lighting is working, Madden 19 is a joy to look at and play.
