    VC in 2k19

has their been any information on how vc will be integrated in 2k19 yet? is there a chance, that they might get away from making mycareer a total money grab again and maybe separate it from mypark?

if they continue what they did in 2k18 or make it even worse, i'm gonna skip this year as well. i didn't buy 2k18 because of how everything was bulit around vc. i might give live19 a shot then.

You can plan on getting Live 19.

      VC isnt goung anywhere.

We can only hope 2K learned its lesson last year and it's not as intrusive as it was in 2K18.

Don't you mean how are they going to integrate NBA into VC2k19?

But in all seriousness, I'm about 99.9% sure it won't be any better than last year, with how profitable 2k18 was.

as long as people buy VC its going to be in the game.

heck release day they probably make more selling VC then selling the game lol

            doesn't sound too promising...

i basically skipped the whole 2k18 life cycle after it became clear, that it's all about selling vc, so i don't know if there was any reaction from 2k side concerning the criticism towards their vc policy (metacritic has it at 1.7/10...) or if they just didn't care.

buy VC for things you need is just optional. VC doesn't force you to buy if you don't want to pay

It'll be interesting to see if they chill out with it a little bit. It's gotten worse every year in some way. Last year players became more expensive (Including paying for upgrades that didn't actually upgrade any attributes) The mobile app pretty much became absolutely useless when it came to getting anything meaningful.

Of course you're not forced to buy it, but the in-game economy definitely promotes it, especially if you don't have hours upon hours to put into grinding.

It's one of the things I don't understand about VC and Microtransactions. Everyone seems to hate and criticize these systems yet people pay for them and they are extremely profitable.

It's hard to blame any gaming company for incorporating microtransactions into their products when they are making money because of them. Why would they listen to public outcry when numbers tell them they're making a profit off the sales?

If people want to see an end to VC and Microtransactions we need to band together and stop paying for this stuff. Maybe I'm old school but I could never justify paying real life money for virtual videogame currency, stat boosts, or minor in game items.

I think I spent ~$20 in 2k13, and haven't spent a dime on VC since. I end up not playing My Career nearly as much because of the awful economy, but I refuse to pay extra just because of how out of balance everything is.

Its a rpgish mode do any of you max out your mmo characters in 2weeks? No so you shouldn't expect your myplayer to be done just as fast play8ng regularly for about a months will get you to a 90 something without spending vc
The difference, though, is that in a RPG, the enemies scale with your characters, or at least with the story. In 2k, your opponents are NBA-caliber athletes from the getgo, while your player is a high school talent at best, and even that is being generous.

2k18 was a good buy for 30. Had some fun online. Lots of offline hours. You can play mylg and either simcast live if you have a Sony device to do it remotely or just start the cpu playing itself for 12 min qtr. It adds up. But boosting was my last straw.

I was considering getting 19 at release even because all of my old friends I played with ten years ago, when we were all beasts (lol) and had more time, we are back together and gonna get it at release and prol wanted to start a squad, but vc is wack.. Still I can hang w a 75 vs 90s all day. V minimal effort that like I said you can even earn without playing, but to know that 2k wants you to also boost your dude per game to compete at a high level is too much.

I'd don't hate 18 and 19 will prol be pretty good too, but it's like I can play it and just clown but when people start getting mad at losing its like how can you get mad when these dudes bought their players and pay to juice them?

It's funny how you can play two players who play the same and dominate one and the other blocks everything you shoot and dunks on you. It's like hmm. Then they are all flopping like they are the best.

Def gonna try live 19 but it needs expanded modes. I think most people are gonna stick with 2k tho.
