lorak, thank you for all of your efforts and contributions, bringing new football life into our old platform!
I have been unsuccessfully trying to update the rosters today through the Vita save manager, receiving a “file is corrupt” message when trying to load the roster file in game. I have checked and rechecked my steps multiple times and continue to encounter this issue. Do you (or does anyone) know what might be causing this? Many thanks

  [B]Please follow the detailed steps:[/B]

1. Install Vita save manager if you do not have it yet. It is very important
to install at least version 2.0.0. Older versions will not work in particular
above FW 3.60.
2. Launch Madden NFL 13 and save a new roster, name it [B]2018WEEK1[/B],
precisely like that. Exit the game.
3. Launch Vita save manager, select Madden NFL 13 and BACKUP your
game saves. It will create a folder with the game code (PCSE00084) and
date in your PSVita. You need to know where is this file
[LEFT] [B]BLUS12345-ROSTER-2018WEEK1.sav[/B]
4. Download my roster update, extract it, then replace the file from step 3
with my file.
5. Launch Vita save manager, select Madden NFL 13 and RESTORE the game save.
At this step, it should include my roster file instead of yours.
6. Launch Madden NFL 13, load the [B]2018WEEK1[/B] roster end just enjoy it.[/LEFT]

Thanks, these are the steps I’m following and encounter no issues until I launch the game at the end and attempt to load the new rosters. The file is corrupt. The instructions and process are so clear. I’m trying to figure out how the file is becoming corrupt. I am using vitashell to replace the files in the ux0 folder, could that be an issue?

No, game saves are encrypted there. Because of that you get a "File is corrupt" message.

I mean, the path where Vita save manager backups/restores decrypted game saves. For example, in my case is ux0:data/decryptedsaves/

You need to configure Vita save manager. Quoting the Vita save manager's readme: "The "Select" button in the main screen allows to set it. Or you can change <code>ux0:data/savemgr/config.ini</code> manually. If you want to use another dump directory format, current time you need modify ini file. For example, if you want to use <code>ux0:data/savegames/PCSE00084_SLOT0</code>, set it to
base=ux0:/data/savegames
slot_format=%s_SLOT%d

Default ini config is below.

base=/data/savegames
slot_format=%s/SLOT%d
list_mode=icon
use_dpad=true"

Ah, I understand, I was placing your roster file in the wrong location. Thanks a lot for your help. This file manipulation stuff is way over my head. I appreciate you making it simple for us old guys!

Madden NFL 13 PS Vita 2018 Week 1 Roster Update.

This roster update is based on roster updates kindly supplied by rogerjinx at footballidiot. Many thanks to him.

Transfer all roster update game saves to your PSVita/PSTV by following the next steps:

Spoiler

1. Download the file below named as "Madden-NFL13-PSVita-2018-WEEK1.zip" and extract its contents somewhere in your computer.
2. In game, save a roster file as 2018WEEK1.
3. By means of Vita save manager BACKUP your Madden 13 game saves. Use the most recent version (follow the link) of Vita save manager, old versions will not work above FW3.60. If you do not know what Vita save manager is please READ the instructions in the link.
   
4. Replace/overwrite the file you get in step 3 with the file from step 1. Go to the folder where Vita save manager backups the game saves for this game in your PSVita (ux0).
5. Again, by means of Vita save manager RESTORE your Madden 13 game saves.
   
6. Launch the game and load your new rosters.

Notes: Skin color of some or many players is probably wrong as I chose it randomly since I do not know the body features of all current players. Colleges have a similar issue as I first need to figure out each college with its code in the roster file. If want to help, please post in this thread all the mistakes of this kind you find.

The mistakes I found are Josh Allen is black, For some reason when I change the colleges of some players their overall change, Baker Mayfield looks deformed.

wow. unlike most of the people in this thread i am overwhelmed completely!! i just started jail breaking my vita about a week ago still learning but from save manager and encrypted and decrypted i dont know what the **** im doing!!! i just want madden 13 with the new **** but anyways please help me somehow. maybe one post with every step instead of steps everywhere. would like madden graphic patch and roster update. please and thankmyou

I used to be in your shoes as well but read everything I could to understand it. Take a look at post #21 by Lorak. It helps explain things and he shows pictures to go with it as well. If your still having issues tell us which part is confusing and we can try our best to help you understand it. Good luck!

I finally picked up a Vita this weekend. Excited to try this. Will now be able to play vita and psp games on one console... and PS4 and PC remoteplay too I guess

Also excited to start diving in and seeing if I can do some mods with you on this

The first thing to do is to check the firmware your device is working on. If it is 3.68 or below you can hack it to take advantage of my graphical patch, roster and franchise (coming soon) updates. Just check a tutorial in youtube to do it, there are plenty of them. Then, install VitaShell plus Vita save manager in your PSVita/PSTV, just read posts #8 and #21 in this thread.

If your PSVita/PSTV is on 3.69, you would be able to take advantage of the roster and franchise updates. In this case just let me know as it requires a completely different procedure.
