Coach Chambers' Journey to the Top: The Catastrophic Chippewas | A Relegation Dynasty

A win in the first tournament in the system for Andrew Chambers would be huge for him and for his legacy at the school. He's already basically tripled the number of weeks in the Top 25 in his first year, he's earned promotion to Tier 7 and, if he were to win the Taco Bell Championship, he could get a huge extension and earn the respect of the Chippewa faithful. Hopefully, I can get the article of the game against Boston College tonight so I can work on getting the Dr Pepper and the Goodyear playoffs out tomorrow.Current Dynasties

Coach Chambers' Journey to the Top: The Catastrophic Chippewas | A Relegation Dynasty
If I may be so bold, I suggest that you maybe scale back the depth/use of editor once school starts back up.Yeah, I've had a lot of time to work on it and I definitely plan on trying to get a lot out. I start school back up on Monday, so the posting may go down at that point. I've really enjoyed the system and hopefully, I can get the rest of the pro-rel playoffs done to get Season 2 started soon. I would definitely follow along if you decided to try out a relegation dynasty and I would love it if you used anything that I've done! Thanks for checking in!
Many of us (myself included) have gotten so in depth, or giving so much detail, that the dynasty actually becomes a burden and makes it less fun. This leads to burnout, and sometimes the abandonment of a dynasty. I had it happen I think in the 2017 or 2018 season in my dynasty. I would up two games ahead, and was so overburdened that I really didn't want to write the games up. I wound up not playing at all for months. When I came back, I toned down the detail on the weekly reports. I developed a bit of a system and now it's an easy routine. Now to play a game, write the report, add in the pictures, do the weekly recap, AND get the preview in for the next game takes a total of roughly 3 hours of my time. That's fairly quick in my book, and I only need like 15 minutes for extras like injury articles or recruiting updates.
So take it with a grain of salt, just an idea. If this starts feeling like a burden once your back in school and hittin the books, or if it's feeling like it just takes too long to do things with the editor, feel free to scale it back or change it up.
I'm in no way saying you need to! I just don't want you to give up on it because you feel like you owe us readers something.Last edited by SilverBullet19; 01-04-2019, 10:18 PM.Comment

I definitely appreciate this. At the moment, my articles of the games are mostly going over what happened during the game, which I think is important. In addition, I also want to be able to get a solid amount of content out. However, from what I'm getting from your point, there's not really a way that I can fulfill both of these goals. I'll definitely reevaluate how I want this to go.If I may be so bolt, I suggest that you maybe scale back the depth/use of editor once school starts back up.

I think, right now, getting the articles and making them the way I want them is taking the most time. The editor has taken a little bit, as I'm a little rusty with it and it's a lot more to edit. Overall, though, the editor isn't that bad. I have the box score for the game against Boston College done, I just need to do the article. I'll get the article out tomorrow and I may do a glossy, for a lack of a better word, overview of the game and move on from that. Thanks again for the advice. I really appreciate it!Current Dynasties

Rittenberg Roundup: Central Michigan moves on in Taco Bell Championship after defeating Boston College
Adam Rittenberg, ESPN Senior Writer
December 19, 2013
-------------------------------------------
Detroit, MI - In the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl, the opener to the Taco Bell Championship, the Chippewas of Central Michigan were able to defeat Boston College in a sound victory. Head coach Andrew Chambers has now led Central Michigan to a double-digit win season, a season that has led to promotion to Tier 7 and, now, a win in the Taco Bell Championship. Chambers has definitely done a lot to earn the trust of the Chippewa faithful. Athletic director of Central Michigan, Dave Heeke, reported, "Andrew is who we're sticking by leading forward, especially after this showing. He has led a team that has proved to the country that the Chips aren't a team to be messed with and that we deserved better than Tier 8."
The running game really produced a lot on the scoreboard for the Chippewas, as James Mitchell and Marquis Harris both accounted for two touchdowns. Although not necessarily a lot of yards on the ground for either of Mitchell and Harris, the rock was distributed between the two and Marcus Jackson fairly well. The aerial raid for the Chippewas was definitely existent, but touchdowns scored by the passing game wasn't. Xavier Deloach's lone throw of the game accounted for the sole touchdown pass of the game to Julius Peterson, after Jackson got pulled out of the game for a play with bruised ribs.
The defense for the Chippewas came up huge, especially in the early going. On the first drive for the Eagles, they got all the way to the one-yard line, but they had to settle for a field goal. Justin Crum was huge in getting the Chippewa fans into the game, especially on 3rd downs. The defense came up with other big plays during the game to prevent the Eagles from scoring a lot.

Hey guys! I hate to say it, but I won't be continuing with all of the miscellaneous tournaments. I've been trying to get the Dr Pepper one to work all day, but I can't get it to go. Have the save file with the Taco Bell Championship, so I'll continue that. I'll do a National Championship tournament. Other than that, I'll only be doing the pro-rel playoffs. I thought that it wouldn't be that bad, but it turns out it is that bad. I'm super sorry about that.
Yeah, the win there was big. I'm glad that I was able to get the running game going and that we came up on top.
Honestly, didn't even notice that until you told me right now
Like I said, I'll be continuing the pro-rel playoffs and the Taco Bell Playoffs. I've decided that the outcome will count onto the record, but I won't add onto anything other than the record. Thank you for (hopefully) understanding, but I don't have the mental strength to keep working on it all morning and into the afternoon. Also, I can't be going through this every postseason, especially as school is starting soon (I know I keep saying that, but school is important to me, as it should be, I feel, and I would rather stop this for three months than continue this if I'm having trouble with school).Current Dynasties

Hey man, no worries! I totally get that. I just got into the Nursing Program for next fall so I’m looking to pump out much content I can these next 6 months and then dial it Down when school start up for me.
As I see it, just do what is fun to you, doesn’t stress you out either. Plus school is way more important man! Whatever you decide to change up, all of us here we’ll continue to follow!Comment

Weird isn’t it. I’ve reported on my dynasty for two seasons and sometimes I feel under pressure to get stuff out - mainly because I just like playing the games. But reporting does add to the immersion - LOL - and then I start getting scared that I’m getting TOO IMMERSED.Comment

Wow, as someone mentioned, this is on fire. Those little icons that go for a thread with a lot of posts, they may need to update an inferno one. I wanted to mention last time that I'm happy to see young bright people joining in on this little hobby of ours. I could never figure out how to work all this in, much less probably figure out how to work the editor. I think I've wrapped my brain around the concept, although how you got promoted by beating Idaho is something I'm a little lost on. :-) Regardless, the Chips are on fire and that's just how they like it :-)Comment

Hey, that's the name of the game. Gotta score more than your opponent, and we did. I want to say, although I can't be sure, that we scored every drive. Not much that you can do as Boston College when I run at the clock with a conservative offense and put points up on the board. This year, if you go back to the scoring summaries, they are able to score super quickly after we score, which has been the bane of my existence. Recently, I've been trying to counteract and balance that out by running down the clock when I have the ball. It's been working, other than the Notre Dame game.
Thanks for the support, Peterson! I really appreciate you being here, since the beginning, really.Hey man, no worries! I totally get that. You know, I was thinking that...
Yeah, I feel that way too. I've spent a lot of time on articles and previews and et cetera, that I feel that only 10% (probably less) of this project has been me actually playing. I'll try to figure out how I can fix thatWeird isn’t it. I’ve reported on my dynasty for two seasons and sometimes I feel under pressure to get stuff out - mainly because I just like playing the games. Yeah, I think that was Trojan. I'm kind of disappointed I didn't find the forums sooner. About two years ago, I got into keeping the stats for my seasons (not so much the storytelling) and that's how I got a lot out of dynasties. Unknowingly, I started a dynasty as a head coach with UL Lafayette, moved to Penn State as offensive coordinator for a year, then played with Tulane for close to nine seasons. That was me not knowing about Geezy's dynasty with Tulane. I wish I had started this back in 2013 or so when I was , so I could really get into this. My schooling has been pretty down low (for the most part, everything came easily to me and I wasn't given a lot of homework and projects and the sort until this year), so I probably would've produced the same amount of content (probably less) that I have this past month consistently until the start of this school year. I can't help to think of what could've been if I found this earlier.Wow, as someone mentioned, this is on fire. Those little icons that go for a thread with a lot of posts, they may need to update an inferno one. I wanted to mention last time that I'm happy to see young bright people joining in on this little hobby of ours. Anyways, I've figured out the editor with a lot of practice and help from videos from, for example, TheUofCWildcat on YouTube. When I say a lot of practice, I mean a lot of practice.
I'm gonna try to simplify the process of earning promotion by beating Idaho. So, the game against Idaho is an example of what I call a "pro-rel playoff." In other systems, such as the English Football League System, which I have used to base my system off of, they are simply called playoffs. In other systems, there are automatic promotions and then playoff promotions. Typically, there are two or three teams that are automatically promoted. These teams are the best teams in the league and it is determined by a points system (that's a whole other thing). In certain leagues, the next four teams play against each other in a playoff. The winner of this playoff gains promotion to the next league, or tier. However, in my system, teams don't gain automatic promotion or relegation. They have to play one more game to, for a lack of better words, make it official. Like what happened between Boston College and Toledo, Toledo denied Boston College promotion and ultimately saved the season by beating Boston College. Essentially, in these games, the winner of the game earns a spot in a league. In the table for the pro-rel playoffs (at the bottom of this article), the most-left column signifies the tier the two teams are playing to join. So, between Central Michigan and Idaho, the winner was going to join Tier 7 the following year. Hopefully, that "simplified" things and that I helped you understand. If you need me to try to explain in another way, let me know.
Thanks, everyone. I'll probably be back this weekend to wrap up the pro-rel playoffs. I want to get season 2 started soon (although I said that last week, so we'll see
).
