Bring parrys back for straight strikes only
I know people hated them but it was more mechanics behind them then the parries themselves. If parries were in the game with no counter bonus and only straight strikes how would you feel? Itd help reduce block breaking greatly. You could even stamina tax it.Tags: None -
Re: Bring parrys back for straight strikes only
100% yes. Parrying is such an integral aspect of striking.
Like you said, it's not the parry people hated. It was being artificially frozen in place for a magical free counter strike that people hated.PSN: Lord__Hazanko

Re: Bring parrys back for straight strikes only
IMO the tracking of the second strike after a jab has to be tuned ...I might be biased but man it's crazy . Too accurate it was made to counter bubble head syndrome . But now it's just crazy.
How many fighters can throw the 1-2 moving forward successfully.

Re: Bring parrys back for straight strikes only
no, parries almost ruined ufc2
althought first version of parries in ufc2 were "fun" hold parry and just watch ur fighter parry like 10strikes in row
that and endless spinning kicks, so many great memoriesComment

Re: Bring parrys back for straight strikes only
Not that I'm opposed to the idea but what would be the practical benefit of it over slipping like you can now?
Personally I would like to see UFC 4 give the player an incentive to start combos with something other than a jab every single time.¯\_(ツ)_/¯Comment

Re: Bring parrys back for straight strikes only
Head movement isnt fluid and unrealiable. Parrys are realistic. You could use the same mechanics from block counters. Why though every time someone has an idea your there to shoot it down? Are you even top 100 bro?Comment

I think this would work best, with the addition of a front and side block.Screenshot_20190225-023351_Chrome.jpg

Re: Bring parrys back for straight strikes only
The price we paid for mobility and foot work ...which wasn't in UFC 2 .

Re: Bring parrys back for straight strikes only
Until stamina , footwork and tracking are tuned or fixed to represent a more realistic approach all our suggestions are for nothing .
How can you commit to a lunging strike hit or miss ...and then skip away to the other side of the octagon. The momentum should keep you placed for a second or two .
Why should a fighter be able to throw a jab and five alternating uppercuts without shifting their torso the later more devasting than the former.
Even you do the backwards lunge after one hit connects the game will decide that you have to eat the rest of the 1-2 - headkick combo .
Why does it seem like you are conserving your stamina why your opponent is throwing 100 hand slaps like e honda and you end up with lower stamina than him.
Really getting tired of these EA games ...man for real .

Re: Bring parrys back for straight strikes only
But in all seriousness, isn’t slipping good enough ? A slip straight is very effective with straight punchesComment
