I myself select every team when doing a franchise, I feel like in years past when I tried just using 1 team and 30 team control, it was still difficult to get rosters to be accurate to real life. Wondering if there is that much of a difference between the two options ?

30 team control, or selecting all 30 teams In franchise?
Just wondering what everyone else does here, I know that a lot of people select the 30 team control option and just select one team before starting their franchise.
I myself select every team when doing a franchise, I feel like in years past when I tried just using 1 team and 30 team control, it was still difficult to get rosters to be accurate to real life. Wondering if there is that much of a difference between the two options ?NFL- Minnesota Vikings
MLB- New York Mets
NHL- New York Rangers
NCAA- West Virginia MountaineersTags: None -
30 team control, or selecting all 30 teams In franchise?
I’m assuming what OP is asking is if most people who do 30 team control select just one team to manually control while setting the others to “auto”. I think he is saying that he manually controls all 30 teams.
When I do 30 team control I set 29 teams to “auto” and only actually “control” one team.

I understand what you are talking about. Keeping it realistic with real-life rosters instead of crap CPU trades, etc. I have not played the game the past two years because I needed a break & this is the way I do my Franchise as well. I was informed last week they you are able to control all 30 teams, rosters and play any games. I only wish they has a pre-simulation like Madden has. Meaning if the Mets were playing the Cubs that day in and the Mets won that day in real-life.. you could preset that game to the Mets winning. This way all the records are close to if not perfect to the real thing. Instead I play maybe 2 teams a day and Sim the rest, but this takes awhile because of the non preset Sim.Comment

30 team control, or selecting all 30 teams In franchise?
I control all 30. I make all the trades to keep my league realistic and coincide with MLB. But I allow all the teams to manage their own injuries and lineups.

On my own profile I’ll have everything set to manual (contracts, lineups, trades, etc). On the CPU profile, I set the lineups and rotation to Auto because I’m not worried about every team being “correct.” However I do care a lot about how other teams trade and sign players, so I set trades and contracts to Manual on the CPU profile. Allows me to control player movement around the league.
It means you have to do the contracts for all 30 teams each winter, which takes hours, but it goes a hell of a lot faster with real contracts which is default in MLBTS19.
You can also change contracts to Auto and sim a day or two of the off season and then change back to Manual. This allows the CPU to sign all the lower level Minors guys, which is really what takes the most time each off season. Or you can just leave contracts on Auto and trades on Manual, which is what most people do I think.

Is there no other way around that to get the best of both worlds? I’d love to have in-progress games showing up.Comment

I created 2 profiles. One USER and the other CPU. Cpu have everything set to Auto and USER has everything set to manual. I have all 30 teams selected and 29 of them are CPU profile and the Indians are set to USER profile.
when you advance you come to a screen that says Welcome to the Orioles since Baltimore is alphabetically first in the AL East. There are 3 options Coaching Tasks, Player Development, GM. Coaching Tasks always says manual and the other two say Auto. There is no option to change teams from this screen.
It doesnt matter if you toggle coaching tasks to Auto of leave it manual cause the only option next is to advance to Spring training or goto the season. Like I said you can not change teams or anything else from here
once you goto the franchise you will see that ALL teams are set to Auto. If I goto the indians and toggle all of there settings to manual it will change them for every other team as well.
If you goto OPTIONS>>>USER SETTINGS>>>>SETTINGS FILE ASSOCIATIONS I can see all teams are set as the CPU profile except the indians who are set to USER.
The issue is with the game using the default profile in the user settings. it seems to override your selection for any other profiles.
The main issue though is when you toggle any settings from Auto to Manual or vice versa it changes it for ALL teams.Comment

I think this is broken this year. I have tried several times and I can not get it to work.

Yeah I can’t solve this issue this year

Re: 30 team control, or selecting all 30 teams In franchise?
So you don't really care about focusing on just one team. If you set injuries and lineups to auto and you do want to manage/gm one particular team, that one is also set to auto. That is the problem for me. I don't want to micromanage all the teams, just the one I am focusing on.Comment

Re: 30 team control, or selecting all 30 teams In franchise?
I believe once you get past that initial screen go to options and gameplay and make sure the mode for the cpu profile is set to auto for all the things you want auto managed. Should work. At least it did last year.

Re: 30 team control, or selecting all 30 teams In franchise?
i found this post from last year. he is saying that the toggle (radio buttons as he calls them) do not matter....that the profile overrides the toggle so to speak.
https://forums.operationsports.com/f...&postcount=419
wish we could get some more confirmation on this. So much trial and error is frustrating and i dont want to get into my franchise to find out the cpu wont make auto moves for the other 29 teams.
hopefully more people post some info on this issue.Comment
