If they aren’t going to show us the green window, then why have it in the first place? It’s the most important piece of information about your jumpshot, due to the drop in success percentage of your shot. The shot meter would actually be better if it literally only showed the green window and just summed all other release points up as “bad” for the way it’s designed.
The location of the green window isn’t even really all that intuitive. The way these meters have always worked, is to aim for the exact top of the meter for best accuracy, but that’s not even where the green window is. It’s somewhere close to the top but a little before it. This nonsense feels like playing a game of darts, where everything but the bullseye is largely irrelevant to your score, the bullseye is hidden from you, it’s been moved slightly off center in some direction, and it changes size depending on how you throw the darts. The least they could do, is make green windows all the same size, and center them directly on the top of the shot meter, such that the very top point of the meter is the dead center of the window
