Could not be more excited. Huge Marvel nerd. Arkham Asylum being as good as it is and Marvel being in the loop gives me a lot of confidence it will be done well.

Superhero games are tough becuase of the gameplay, but I trust Square Enix.

Wait and see on this because I fear this will be games as a service type of game. I also wonder if we get to play as a Avenger or a agents of Shield with the ability to pick your power.

I am trying not get to excited about this even with Square Enix making it. Its got some huge shoes to fill after Spiderman and Batman games. Hopefully the game will be offline story driven and not online centered.

After reading the article below, im starting to be positive in regards to the game as I was expecting it to be a fully fledged online multi-player game but that doesn't appear to be the case.

I saw that description and thought it sounded like MUA but others saw it and said it also sounded like The Division/Destiny so I don't know what to expect. I just want a single player game but I doubt that's what we get.

Personally if it was a Avengers single player game I think I be disappointed. Imo the Avengers is a perfect coop setting. It would feel wrong if it was strictly single player and this is coming from a single player enthusiast.

                      Re: Marvel's Avengers

I personally thought it'd be cool if they did a single player mode with a campaign. You have everyone separate and you play through some single missions (i.e. as Iron Man, as Cap, etc.) and then the story blends them together to form the Avengers. You can then pick who you want to use.

I would love to see like a GTA V mechanic where you could switch mid-fight between characters, but probably getting my hopes up there.

For online, it would be cool if you could make your own superhero. You would have to choose powers similar to archetypes and you could make the type of hero you'd want to have, with obvious restrictons like the archetype system.

Would be cool, but again who knows if that's the plan.

Arkham Knight did pretty well with their seamless switching of characters during combat. It's part of the reason why I'm clamoring for RockSteady to give us a TMNT game, but I could see Avengers using a similar squad style.

I misspoke, the distinction I'm making is more between online/offline than single/multi-player. I'm fine with co-op, in a MUA or X-Men Legends style, I have no interest in some Destiny/Division living world stuff. I've seen some people today bring up AC Origins as an example of a single player game that adds content and does it the right way, could go that way.

Having said that, I would prefer single player. I just don't think a MUA/Legends style game even has the capacity of doing what a Spider-Man or Arkham series can do, like it puts a cap on how good it can be.

I feel like the success of Spider Man was because Spider Man himself was so well done. The controls were natural and you felt like him.

What I'm worried about is that there's so many playable characters that they're not all as well developed, as say Spider Man was.

I'm really not sure what to expect.

That combat was batman style though... I think that's the most crucial thing.

                              People love those mechanics.
