Re: New PlayStation 5 Details Revealed, Arrives Next Holiday Season
Holiday 2020 makes sense, no way they were ready to launch this year with no hype machine. It puts games like Cyberpunk and others coming out early next year in a weird place as they'll most likely get an inevitable PS5 release as well.
Hesitant to buy a launch console knowing that a PS5 slim and PS5 pro are most likely down the line. Waiting on that price point. -

Re: New PlayStation 5 Details Revealed, Arrives Next Holiday Season
While expected, it's great to see Sony confirm that Ray Tracing is hardware based and that it's set for Holiday 2020 which basically means November 2020 before Black Weekend.
Can't wait to either their PlayStation 5 reveal event or E3 2020!!! Should be great because we get to see the official date, price and launch titles.Comment

Re: New PlayStation 5 Details Revealed, Arrives Next Holiday Season
I think most people figured that because if you look at console history not just Sony most systems come out around the holidays but before today Sony had not said any thing another then 2020 and a while back there where a lot rumors of it coming out in early 2020 to the point where it started to sound like maybe it could be true. Also it was only like 8 months from ps4 being announced to coming out where this will end up being like a year and a half. So because they announced it back in April instead of like late this year you could have made a cases that was a sign that it was going to be early 2020 instead of late 2020. I was kind of hoping for early 2020 so ready for 4k gaming dont have a pro. But has time went on this year and GOT didn't get any kind of update it made holiday 2020 for ps5 much more likely has its looking like GOT will be a summer game and then ps5 will come out a few months later. Its interesting how Sony has done things this year. We have had two times this year where we got ps5 news and both times it was on like random days. It wasn't around any game shows like e3, Tokyo game show, PGW etc and it wasn't in a special show thing like ps4 was in its February thing in 2013 or in a state of play or anything.Comment

Excellent news! I will probably wait a year or two after release before getting one.
Keeping the name consistant (5) just shows you how strong the brand is. Some competitors try to re-brand their system every few years, but not Sony. Sony has a winner and it just gets better and better...My Specs:

Re: New PlayStation 5 Details Revealed, Arrives Next Holiday Season
The features sound good. I curious to see how the latency could be like with the haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. I'm curious to see how each developer takes advantage of the more powerful consoles. I'm sure some would go for more visuals to show how life like the game could. But I'm really curious to see if how much of a jump we will see in graphics. Since we aren't really getting higher resolution(besides Native 4k), I'm curious how much more better the game looks. No one will expect a PS2/Xbox to PS3/360 jump in visuals, but do want to see better textures and smoother animations throughout games.
I'm on the fence whether I want to buy game at launch or wait. According it won't be an issue, especially if a company has a good trade in deals with PS4 Pro and PS4 models. But my thing is, I haven't bought the last couple consoles at launch. I don't think I had PS3 at launch, I was still a teen and I was bought the cheaper models. I bought the PS4 a year after launch. I had no plans on getting the Pro. I got it as a gift. So I do feel like I can wait. Especially since sports games are the main games I play faithfully. Most of the times, launch sports games are stripped down. Also isn't a big enough game catalog for me at launch, where I don't want it to be mainly just one game I'm playing for 10+ months. But if the PS5 is fully backwards compatible to the PS4, that would give me a reason to buy PS5 sooner. I would be able to still buy games for PS4 and play it on PS5 for the first year. My main issue is that I hope there isn't a need for a mid gen refresh. I just want to buy one console and not have to second guess myself. So for me, if they have a good trade in deal. Where if I cut at least $200 by trading in PS4 Pro and Base PS4 at launch, I will heavily consider it.Comment

It's all about the launch titles for me. If GOW or Spiderman is available, I'll jump on it as fast as inventory allows. The graphical jump for 2K, The Show and Madden could have a big impact on how soon I buy, too. I'm not expecting a massive jump in graphics at this point, though.

Even though I mainly play sports games, a good launch title can help sway me. If they are true about BC being a big thing, I'm sure popular PS4 titles should be available at launch. The question becomes if it is fully BC to PS4, will all PS4 games be available at launch. But I would want something new as well. If there is still a PS5 launch title, I don't think it will wait to be announced until E3. I'm sure we'll hear something mid-late Q1 2020
I can even see there be a remaster version of a popular Sony game. Or BluePoint doing something similarComment

I'm interested in backwards compatibility and whether or not my PS4 digital library will carry over. I don't have room to house all these consoles (PS2 and 3 and 4 and 5 and classic).Unofficial OS Ambassador of "CPU vs. CPU"
Now Playing:
XB1 (Forza Motorsport 6 and Horizon 2)
Switch (Mario Kart and Zelda)
PS3 (old 2k games and the Show)Comment
