Here is my issue: What if someone likes to play both? Maybe I like to play a sim style offline in franchise but I also like to get on ultimate team when I just want to kick back and play some football without having to worry about some of the extra stuff and play the arcade type play style. Not all sim players play franchise. My 10 year old plays Madden franchise and do you think he cares about sim play? No, he wants to see players make crazy catches and big hits and yell at the TV.

For every sports game, this makes no sense, it is a waste or resources and manpower. This also makes less players happy than 1 separate game. The more logical thing would be to continue to improve the 1 game you make.
