PSU file attached with the .max file. I tried the .psu last night and it worked for me.

The file name I had on Mcboot previously began with BASLUS...I can't get this one to work

Copy it from the usb and then when pasting, choose psupaste

I'm running into the same issue of freezing when simulating through preseason week 3. I see there isn't an 'auto reorder' but any other ideas for a fix? I'm running the ps2 version

Try turning preseason off and start in the regular season.

I also had this problem. It happened every week 3 (season or preseason) and always with the KC game.

Then it hit me. I wonder if someone put Pat Mahomes real contract in the game. Pat Mahomes' name would disappear before the 3rd week, this is what tipped me off.

I pulled the roster into my 2k5 roster editor and found that they put in Mahomes' 10 year contract. The problem is that 2K5 only has contracts up to 7 years.

I changed the contract to reflect 7 instead of 10 years and whala! It works again and goes past week 3.

I'm going to run some tests now.

Editing Mahomes contract seems to do the trick; was able to simulate three separate franchises through the Super Bowl without any lockups, which *never* happened with the previous versions of the roster I've used.

Note I do see 5 instances of corrupt players at the end of the season: 2 QBs, 1 ILB, a Guard, and a player with no listed position. I'll look around a bit more and see if I can figure out who those players are, because something seriously weird is going on.

Initial suspicion: The game *really* hates contracts longer then 7 years.

Without fail, simulating a week results in about a dozen or so corrupt free agent players, often listed at the QB position. Simulating farther, I've seen some *really* odd behavior with free agents. I'm suspecting some player data is getting corrupt somewhere; one of the roster makers might want to do some sanity checking that everything they are putting in is valid for the 2005 salary cap and is acceptable within 2k5.

I should note I've tested this on the PS2 version; not sure if the XB behaves any differently.

At the very least, I can confirm Brian Hoyer causes problems. I started a franchise with control of all 32 teams, and simulated one week into the season. Once again there were corrupt players in the QB list, but I noticed Brian Hoyer was no longer listed. My best guess is there's something in his player profile the game does not like very much.

If I had more free time, I could create a full list of FAs and compare against which ones vanish as the season goes on, but I currently don't have the time to do an in-depth investigation. From what I've seen in an hour of looking, at least a few players cause problems in franchise mode, which is what I believe is driving the instability many of us are seeing.

After obtaining the psu roster file, I'm having trouble with actual game coming on, it gets hung up, after I select my teams and Chris Berman talks a bit. It's actually after he announces the teams who are playing. Is there a remedy for this?

This was a known bug for a frustratingly long time in PCSX2; I know it's working as of the build I'm using, but I'm not 100% what exactly fixed it.

Make sure you are using the absolutely latest development build to start with. I'm currently on 1.7.0-dev-108 which is about a month or two old by this stage. To the best of my knowledge, no special settings are necessary to get past that point.

Again, this was a problem for literally 15 years and was broken as recently as March of this year; I make it a point to test ESPN 2k5 every few months and found it was working as of late July, so this problem was only fixed very recently.

As for specific things that could potentially be a problem:

*) I'm using the AVX2 gsdx graphics plugin, though I doubt the specific choice matters much.

*) I'm using the Direct3D 11 (Hardware) renderer.

*) I have Large Framebuffer enabled.

*) Mipmapping (Ins) is set to Full

*) CRC Hack Level is set to Full

*) DATE Accuracy is set to Full

None of the other settings should effect this issue whatsoever. I'm pretty sure it's just naturally fixed on later versions of PCSX2.

I ran a game with the rosters that came with game and it worked fine. Then I used these rosters and when I tried to use Dallas at home it wouldn't follow through all the way, but I used them on the road and it worked fine.
