I'm enjoying the game overall. Looks and feels mostly good. My only issue after one match vs. the CPU on Legendary is that the Strafe Dribbling is extremely overpowered. I'm Chelsea vs. CPU Barcelona and once they get near the box, it's super difficult to get the ball back because they strafe dribble and skill move non-stop

Did you turn off competitor mode it's on by default. I'm guessing thats why you are seeing a ton of skill moves.

You are a lifesaver, thank you so much! I never would have thought of that

Haven't spent enough time with gameplay yet but it seems almost identical to 20. So quick initial thoughts:
          • Manual heading once I figure it out might be amazing
          • Editing players is back to normal
          • You can now choose all songs from both soundtracks
          • Don't forget to turn off all the new assists they've added like auto shooting and auto clearance.
          • Semi throughballs are finally an option!
          • The menus got a new coat of paint which I prefer to the horrible bright gray/white background
          • Finally in CM you can see your opponents expected starting XI

My first impression wasn't really a good one but I really didn't play Fifa 20 much besides the demo and very very little of the trial so I am not really comparing it to that more so 19 which I spent a lot of time with and it feels identical. AI attacks seem varied but the feel of the game is just off for me and I still hate the way you defend it's just not practical for me because you can never get close to a player properly.

I will try to play more this weekend and jump straight into Career Mode to see what it's like but not really optimistic.

Overall, I am really enjoying it. To me finally career mode, feels alot better. I am enjoying the depth to it now with the added features. The new transfer loan to buy is amazing and should have been added awhile ago. Starting with a scout and some youth is a beautiful touch I like.

Gameplay feels great and improved from last year to me.

The biggest disappointment and thing I have alot of issues with and really angers me is NO new leagues or adding of North American Champions League. Id love to know if in the history of FIFA, if they ever released a new game without any new leagues. Come on EA, just bad. I really also hope you add the North American CHampions LEague. Its long past due. Each year, you all just put alot of work into the MLS and its Broadcast stuff, but without that tournament it feels a waste to me. THis coming from a big MLS fan.

Oh well, please do add some new leagues for next gen.

I wasted precious trial hours playing a game of VOLTA. The gameplay seems improved this time around so that good. Feels like the actually put effort into making the gameplay unique to smaller pitches/courts and 5 or less players on a team. Last year it felt like they just used the game play from the main game. The mode had so much potential last year but the dropped the ball. Control still feels a little sloppy but maybe that improves as your attributes increase.

What do ya'll think about the competitor mode feature? I like it but I'm not sure if I'm really good enough to use it on Legendary.

Just played my first 3 games and I absolutely hate the gameplay.

Especially the ball physics. I don't know what it is that they changed but the game feels like it's even more on rails than its predecessors.

It seems to me like the ball is always glued to one player on the pitch and is never in "free flow" if you know what I mean.
You can always predict exactly where its going to be when you dribble or pass it.

The new dribble animations contribute heavily to that feeling and make everything looks super weird.

Besides from that everything else feels and looks the same, very stale. From the first minute you feel that EA didn't put any effort in this game and probably focused on the next-gen versions and probably Corona played its part as well that there were limited developments.

I'd love to check out the new features in career mode but with the gameplay being what it is I'm not even seeing the reason to waste any more time on this game.

The herky jerky animations and skating kill it for me along with how fast the ball flies around the pitch. Don't get me started on defending I'm really curious about how this plays on Next gen though.

i watched some footage on YT, wow, this is just big big gaga.
Like the post above, what fifa does really really BAD is on the animations part / motion capturing, with all the icing movement and super fast dribblings, like each animation only has a few frames motion-captured aka like playing a 24fps footage on 60fps.

If the player on FIFA can't reach the ball, he simply skates to the position, something you barely see in PES2020 or really just a minor mini-skating here and there. There are simply more accurate animations which fill those gaps.

Like i said before, the whole FIFA-Team needs to be replaced. Back to school, learn the basics. Since Konami's PES can do it, it's surely nothing impossible.

FIFA21 Price Tag with official Licenses .... 5,99€, without official licenses ..... 0,99€

I agree about animations and skating, it has been bad for years now. It affects gameplay and immerssion a lot, thats why i have played only PES last five years.

But, with OS sliders those seemed bit more realistic at FIFA 21 on Matt10 stream last night. I was suprised, how much better and realistic it looked.

Damn, I must be an absolute footballing novice because I'm actually really enjoying the game. Then again, I also enjoyed FIFA 20.

Got in a quick game this morning before work as Chelsea against RB Leipzig playing on World Class difficulty, 7 minute halves and I had a blast playing. Here's my impressions.

                            What I like

                            * The player movement seems a lot more free flowing this year than it did on 20. I feel like speed really matters

                            * I think the ball weighs "less" than in previous years. I personally feel like I have more control of the ball than I had in previous years, and the ball isn't glued to everyone's feet so defense is actually fun

                            * For the first time in a long time, I think ratings matter. You could see the difference on the pitch between the two sides and I was confident in securing the victory because of it.

                            * Shots have WAY more power on them this year. When you really put your foot into a ball and bang one in it feels very satisfying.

                            What I Don't Like

                            * Not enough stoppages in play. Ball doesn't go out for throws often enough in the middle of the pitch

                            * Not enough fouls, particularly by the CPU. It seems they can just bully you with almost no consequence.

                            * Defense is still iffy at times. I was able to carve them up through the middle of the pitch. This could be a different story when I go up against some PL sides in my career. We'll see

Overall, I like it. I'd like to consider myself a fresh newbie to the hardcore European and International football scene. I've been watching the Premier Leauge and the Bundesliga for about 2 years now while trying to follow the rest of the football world, so I really do enjoy this game.

I can see why the more experience footy fans aren't big on the FIFA franchise and that's understandable. I'm just as critical to the Madden, NBA and Show games. I'm having fun with this and I'm sure it'll be the only thing on my PS4 and PS5 for the rest of the year.

Sure do! This is one of the biggest problems with the Fifa series and one that has pulled me away from the series. The other is the actual CPU AI and gameplay.

Thanks for the impressions. I was planning to renew my EA play subscription and give the trial a try, but now I'm going to hold off and stick with eFootball 2021 for my soccer fix.
