    Next-gen reveal expectations

Just wondering what folks were expecting from the 30 min next-gen stream.

Now that they have revealed the stadium creator , I'm not sure what they have left to show. Just next gen gameplay maybe? What are you guys expecting?

Yeah, the whole "NEXT GEN" feature premiere is interesting. They've already shown next gen gameplay in multiple previous videos, so what really is there to dive into?

Perhaps there is something that they've been holding out until Thursday... I mean, there's got to be something... why else have this "NEXT GEN" feature premiere in the first place?

I guess that I'm not expecting much at all this week... 4k60 solid gameplay, crisper visuals, rehashed stadium creator things...

If anything further than this, I guess I'll be surprised... but I still hold out a small glimmer of hope that I'll be pleasantly surprised by some big, unannouced next gen feature or visual update.

A deeper look intonstafium creator. A look at the increased resolution, talk about the FPS, and then whatever they changed with the dirt.

The one thing they haven't discussed is if/how they will be utilizing the haptics on the PS5 controller. I could see that being a topic.

I'm hopeful they drop a blog or at least a Coach video today to tease Thursday's feature.
Seems that's been the trend for the other features...

Not that I'm getting my hopes up, but I'd love to see an surprise feature teased and then revealed on Thursday, too. It probably wouldn't be a back of the box feature, being this close to launch, but maybe team uniforms in the All Star Game..?

I assume it will be the haptics and 3D audio on the ps5. Also they mentioned new intro presentations so maybe batter walk ups? More detailed stadiums and environments sounds like crowd interactions? I’m not expecting to be blown away this year but next yes.

It’ll mostly be window dressing IMO. We’ve already seen what 4K with a decent framerate looks like with 20, so there’s nothing new there. From what we’ve been shown so far 21 doesn’t look significantly superior- which is disappointing regardless of how good the game looks anyway.

              -Grass looks ps3 esq.
              -Dirt looks ps3 esq.
              -Hair looks awful.
-Player models are in desperate need of an upgrade.
-Commentary in need of an overhaul.

Personally I feel they could’ve held off on stadium creator until the rest of the game was uplifted. Same with the ‘podcasts’ for RTTS. I’d sooner they used that resource sorting out the commentary and crowd reactions.

Finally, a lot of the animations still don’t seem fluid from what I’ve seen.

Maybe (hopefully) it'll end up me reading too much into nothing, but it's interesting to me that there hasn't been any trailer or Ramone & Coach video yet, today. I feel like those have typically come out by lunch-ish time on Tuesdays, no?

Could very well be me looking too much into it as I'm anxious to hear more about next-gen.

I’m pretty disappointed with the art approach for next gen, am I the only one who doesn’t like the “Toy Story” graphics? I thought they could do more of a “realistic approach” graphic wise.

I would love to see only two things done for next gen

                    cloth physics like mlb 2k7
Was it overdone yes but it made sense because the wind dictated it and most games were set to windy at default to really show off the feature...

grass that looks like pes or Fifa
                    less blurry

                    everything else looks ok still

unless sky textures can also be revamped

and then there's snow in April!

Stadium creation and new intros for each team.

                      NFL: San Diego Chargers
                      NHL: Chicago Blackhawks

Would be really rough for an in-house Sony studio to ignore haptic feedback, one of the major selling points of the PS5. I could see them saying that's another feature "coming soon," hopefully they talk about that because that's one of the most next-gen feeling things about FIFA and Madden's PS5 upgrades. No excuse not to have it in there, even if it's basic like Madden and FIFA.

After the Franchise video disappointed I'm not expecting much more than a Stadium creator deep dive and maybe some 3d audio and haptic feedback info.

And I'm sure something for Xbox folks like the Game pass inclusion being mentioned.

I'd love some enhanced weather effects for next gen, maybe some Franchise exclusive features (doubtful), update to Sounds of the Show. (At least confirm it still works on next gen.)

Obviously it won't happen this year. Going forward I would like to see a complete overhaul of pitching animations to match the intensity of real life. Better batter swing animations and better animations overall. Grass and dirt textures leaving the PS3 era and joining 2020+. Lighting and shadows, including better soft shadows implementations, and volumetric lights that really show up at night.
