Offline Roster Management for CFM Franchise

Walk with me and hear me out.

Imagine you've been playing with Franchise after Franchise like I do, pre-patch. Just playing with different teams. You often download the new roster, modify it to your desire, create your player, trade players at will then start up a Franchise.

Let's say you're not at home, you're at work. Now someone like me who has some downtime can log into Madden website or wherever it's hosted and manage their offline rosters to have everything facilitated right when they get home. All they need to do is spark up the console, start up a franchise, load their rosters and boom. Don't need to spend time at home doing so before starting a Franchise.

Wouldn't this be a great idea? I honestly think this would be an absolute game changer. Something no sports games have right now. Let it soak in for a minute.

I agree. I would love to be able to see league stats and stuff like that via an app on my phone. Depth chart adjustments, free agency, stuff like that would really be awesome

Right? I noticed each time prior to starting a Franchise, i'm spending almost an hour if not hours just doing roster management. Doing this anywhere via cloud management then coming home to have everything ready to start Franchise would be total game changer.

Who could I bring this up to? Anyone know of direct message to EA Dev Team?

Would totally pay extra for this...and the ability to export all the stats/data to Excel or something for nerd purposes...

I'm confused. You want online access to a file that only lives on your console's hard drive, and your console itself isn't necessarily connected to the internet?

The idea of a roster editing web-app has been discussed in the past for the NCAA Football games, but obviously any implementation would require internet access and a place for the file to live online, making it an online feature.

Not opposed to be clear, I just don't understand lol.

Have you tried remote play? You can mess with your franchise and roster files all you want when you are not home. That is what I do.

This has been a lifesaver for me. My wife watches TV while I manage my franchise from my iPad using remote play so that I don’t have to waste time when I’m actually “playing” and she doesn’t have to complain about me spending 4-5 hours a day on there playing. The most time I spend on this game is front end roster setup and cfm setup. Once that is done it’s pretty smooth sailing playing game to game week to week. Maybe only 10-15 min spent editing equipment for my next opponent

Yep! The technology is there. Let's start with Online CFM since that's what EA recommends people to use instead of offline. Why not feature an online roster management option for Online CFM to get users on that option? It would not only be a great marketing tool for Madden, but also would be an absolute game changer in terms of facilitating Franchise mode prior to starting it.

Just log into the "Madden Website", start creating your players, adjust your rosters, save it to the "Madden cloud" then once you get home and spark up your console, everything is all there for you to start your Franchise.

I think you misunderstood what he said. You said you want online editing for your offline files.

There is not technology that makes this possible. Cloud franchises, of course. Offline saves that are saved to your hard drive that a cloud service has no access to? Nope.

It would be nice to see the companion tool expanded for sure. I’m not sure if you remember the ncaa 14 dynasty website, was awesome.

I understood what he said perfectly in which I addressed it by offering a way to first implement that within ONLINE CFM. Let's be realistic here. This is not the 90's or 2000's let alone 2010's. We're in 2021 going into 2022. We have the technology. It's just the matter of developers and staff to incorporate it. Could be due to funds or just the abilities, but as I said, we have the technology to make this happen.

We've evolved in programming where we can literally make a gun out of a printer. Is it impossible let alone improbable to design a cloud management system where one can manage rosters and transfer it to their offline Franchise? I work in a Hospital as a Server Admin and we've incorporated tools to use apps on a iPod to take pictures of patients wounds then upload into our EMR regardless if it's offline or online. How could this not be possible with cloud management?

I think it’s quite possible for offline as well, not gameplay, but those ancillary things like roster management could be uploaded, then accessed. Kind of like a drop box. I think a lot of folks would be fine with not necessarily having the same UI and look. With Microsoft or the Google Drive I think it would be an easy integration. EA probably wouldn’t get it right anyway. OOTP leagues are in reality offline, but are run online.

Exactly! I think it has more to do with money than anything. Who knows of the purpose, but I know there has to be something about money that is preventing from this idea coming to fruition. Like when we developed our tech to upload patient wounds, we went through countless hours of meetings with leadership, project management, accounting, human resource, etc. It was a nightmare to get the ball rolling.

If you ever played COD, you know they have a cloud management system online where you can see all your kill streaks, k/d ratio, etc. I believe one game iirc, Ghost Recon, allowed management of equipment online through their website where it applied in real time when you start up your campaign.

Believe me guys, this can happen. It's all about putting the ball in EA's court to make it happen. This would be a great thing for EA. They would be the first to incorporate this legit. You can be on your phone travelling to wherever, log into the EA Madden website, manage your roster then once you get home, everything is all set up for you to start your franchise. It would facilitate the monotony of offline roster management.

Am I having a Mandela Effect moment where this didn't actually exist, but I am almost certain that an old version of Madden circa early PS3 generation had this for online franchises. Might have been the first year they had online franchises.

I don't know if you could edit anything, but you could view rosters and game results.

Weren't there a couple of NCAA football games back in the day on the 360/PS3, where if you had online dynasties, you could actually go to EA's website and do your recruiting? I also think you could do stories from there as well. Or am I making this up?
