Y'all can have that -- no freaking thank you on having "server performance" impacting the swing performance.

To me that's a massive flaw, even if some folks have found a way to enjoy the "outcomes".

I would be very disappointed if ea pga came out and required online connection to play solo career and play now like pga 2k

Unfortunately I think this is how it's going to be for all games all the time now. "Always online" is here to stay, unfortunately.

I knew there was a reason I never ditched my XBox 360....

I don’t think so, at least not for a few years. Don’t forget, pga 2K was the golf club, and TGC 1 was the same as 2K in needing online heavily. No reason EA has to store the courses in some cloud. Imagine this is their last pga game with Augusta and then in 5 years the servers go down and take frostbite Augusta with it.

I didn't want to start a new thread so I thought I would post this question here. I am playing on the PS4 and until 2 days ago thought the putting was quite good. Now I am seeing a situation where it is near impossible to draw the putter back on any putts. This is causing a situation where I over hit everything because the game does not read my input. This doesn't happen on any other shots.

2k21. Putting inputs go un read. I try to take the putter back but there is no movement. This just started about a week ago and only happens when I putt. Full shots fine. It is not the controller. I was thinking about uninstalling the game but did not want to lose my favorited gold courses.

This isn't pertaining to the PS4 version, but when the latest XBox controller update happened about six weeks ago, my PGA TOUR 2K21 difficulty increased significantly. Quite often I'll miss three to five foot putts because the putting tempo has changed to the point that I severely pull the putts to the left. I have to be very deliberate in both my backstroke and forestroke hit a putt straight. I'm still showing a tendency to forget to be deliberate enough with it, and last night I missed 3 foot putts for par on back-to-back putts. They both were pulled completely left of the hole!?

Has there been an update on the Playstation controllers recently?

We could be here all day.

HB is so bad at what they do, that EA can hit a home run by just hitting a single into the gap here.
EA has always been a letdown in gameplay. Sure many will like the pretty graphics and the courses but shotty gameplay and arcade like atmosphere will only go so far. The Golf Club and now 2k has a clear advantage with true fans of Golf. Cannot get much better than the TGC Tours, real frustrations of golf than what we have now. If you want arcade golf and smashing the buttons for spin ect... by all means go to EA...

I've always felt the EA games allowed a lot of flexibility to create the experience one wants.

You can usually spec it up and get a very difficult "simulation" level experience -- or on the other side have a very arcade and relaxing and "easy and fun" style of play also. With a golf game, that's a smart way to design it most likely -- cast a wide net.

The 2004-2005 & 2012-2014 EA runs had some great gameplay I thought.

Agree, Rusty must have never looked into settings.

2K21 gameplay is far from perfect. I could go on and on.

Re: EA Golf Vs. PGA Tour 2K21: How EA Can Set Itself Apart

Very true that 2k21 gameplay is far from perfect. But I am of the definite opinion that the swing mechanics, ball physics and generally the experience and frustrations of playing golf have never been better than in this otherwise very flawed game.

I'm hoping 2k doesn't touch a thing as far as swing timing and all the ball mechanics and physics, and that EA even improves on it. And for the sake of people who like the 3 button thing (which I don't), I hope both games offer than and maybe other options for how to actually swing. I'm not sure how that will translate when playing others online, tournaments and such, if some are using the thumb/timing method verses 3 button mode or something else, but that's not really important to me.

Just give us next gen graphics, tons of the best courses, keep created courses (2k), make career mode better, and I'll be happy and will buy both games the day they come out. Really hoping we get some news from 2k in May for an August release. And then of course EA in Spring. Good times coming for all of us either way.
