Shot timing then and present patches

Hey guys so when the game came out for next gen, I love the shot timing. But over the course of patches and updates shot timing has been having issues. But with the latest patch for ps5 yesterday, it seems shot timing is back to normal. Do you guys have any tips with shot timing ? It still not what I’m used to from 2k19. That to me was the best shot timing. It was so good I even learn how to do it with the meter. So what is everyone tips. This is only for shot timing. I don’t need 2k sucks or shot timing sucks. Use real fg. This is only for shot timing

Re: Shot timing then and present patches

Some people like to look at the players toes/feet. Generally I'm an elbow guy. But I've found with certain players I have to look at when the ball raises from their "dip". Those players are Joe Ingles, JV (NO) and KD.

My best recommendation is to take the player to the freestyle court. Just like in real life. Start very close to the rim and then work your way outside to the 3 point line. Take about 10 shots from the same spot and then move to the next.

I'm purely a no shot meter guy by the way

Thank you for this. What about leaving the shot meter on but not looking at it? Or should i turn it off?

The way the shot meter is design this year. It completely confuse you because it's way fast then the animations. Here is a little tip I noticed no one talks about. A lot people miss the first free throws because the shot meter "jumps" at them once they trigger it. So they miss time it resulting in them missing.

Yes you can leave it on. But I find it confusing and it doesn't hurt you get a sight Boost in shot percentage. So yeah [emoji41]

Edit: I've put so much time in learning animations. It's takes about 2 shots to figure out a players animation now. I don't play "My player". So I can't imagine if I only had to learn one animation. That would be a no brainer decision for me. Turn it off [emoji23]

            Jeebs is spot on!

Another tip if you're not using meter and feedback when taking open shots:
            - your shot is short -> timing = slightly late or very late
            - your shot is long -> timing = slightly early or very early

Woah is that true? I always thought it was the other way around. That late meant I kept my finger on the button too long.

It's the case for open jumpshots and FTs, don't think it's the case for contested shots, that's more random.

Jeebs I turn off the shot meter. Is the shooting button pressure sensitive? And I’m releasing it like the top point and it still miss. Is it because I’m online and it’s just whacky ?

Turn down shot timing impact slider until it feels right. I have all shot notifications off, so no meter or release timing text at the top of the screen, shot timing at 20, and it feels just right. 30 is also ok but after a recent patch I lowered it to 20.

Late shots are short hitting front rim
Early shots are long hitting back rim

No the shot button isn't sensitive. It's a button. Lol. The shot stick isn't sensitive per day. It's the amount of things you can do with the shot stickn that keep it in play for me.

Did you know there is a option to have the shot meter only for stick or only for the button? I used it for the first month or so.

Also the goal shouldn't be perfect it should be get close to it.

Great example...I started playing with Sixers in tier one. I could shoot with everyone expect Tobia Harris. His animation is late and it doesn't happen at the top of his jump. I hit the gym before this game with him. It was good after that.

So that's why I say there is no spoon [emoji12]..... Aka there is no one size fits all in this situation. You need to take the players into games or practice/freestyle mode. Like I said before. DO NOT WORRY ABOUT GREEN RELEASES. Only worry about the ball going in.
