Displeasure is voiced louder and more consistent, sooo...

Figured I'd drop in to flip the table on that sentiment one good time. The majority that are actually enjoying the game usually go quiet after a few weeks. Maaaan, the devs pulled the stops out this year, this is a GREAT game of football I must say.

I don't know anything about franchise glitches as I haven't made it that far in (I don't sim each season in search of bugs, I actually PLAY each individual game), but on the field this game is FIRE. When I fire this bad boy up, I have the same exact feeling as 2005 PS2, haven't had that feeling in WELL over a decade.

I'm extremely excited for next years version along with College Football. PLEASE bring back the transferable draft classes (I'll be like calgon take me away!!!).

Once INTs were fixed the game plays amazing. I’m the same in that I only sim here and there. I’ll probably restart with a cloud CFM now that the draft revert seems to be fixed because I’m on season 4 of my offline one and I know it will corrupt at some point. Plus the apps and 3rd party sites add depth and gives me something to look at while I’m pretending to work during the day.

Yeah, the Franchise issues have basically killed the discussion about the on the field gameplay here this year, it is what it is, but although there are of course some lingering legacy gameplay issues that are still present, the User vs CPU gameplay experience for me is absolutely incredible.

IMO a lot are people are too angry to recognize (or even care to look for) what has been done, but they have made quite a few subtle improvements on the AI and animation front during this cycle that have really enhanced the game, IMO.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

Yeah once the interception thing was fixed, it was a good game. Now if they add the FIFA 23 movement tech into the college football game and next years Madden, it would be golden. FIFA player movement and 2 player interaction has always been better then Madden. They slowly bring it over, over a couple years, wish they just bring everything over at once.

          Agreed 100%.

I've very much been a critique of the game over the years.

I acknowledge that we don't all want the same things out of the game so I have no qualms that anyone has issues with the game when it affects their enjoyment. We all want the same thing.

That said, I haven't enjoyed it this much in a long time. OP said it best. Those that hate it spend their time posting here (nothing wrong with that at all) and those that are enjoying it are generally spending their time playing it.

Now that the game breaking interception bug is fixed (lol) the game plays extremely well. I know I’ve been vocal as of recent but I’ve also been sharing in A&S’s slider thread - getting some good games of football whenever I pick the game up. Actually losing on all-pro this year and ENJOYING it!

Agree that Madden 23 has been a great gaming experience for me. Where I understand the displeasure is that this franchise is literally decades from where they should be from a presentation, franchise, and other features standpoint. Case in point no refs on the field, limited selection of team jerseys, field art you can't turn off, end zone designs that are not customizable to go along with the team's update, retooled halftime presentation, an in-depth franchise mode on par with NBA 2K.

When I see the attention to detail by 2K and SDS I can tell these folks are hardcore fans like me and try and capture as much detail as possible. When I see EA drop the ball in these areas year after year it feels like a money grab to get the most profit with minimal internal investment. That issue goes beyond the development engineers in many cases.

whatever is going on on the field of play, it's amazing. each time I play it almost gets better. I'm seeing stuff in madden 23 that I've never before seen in a football game.

Re: Displeasure is voiced louder and more consistent, sooo...

The business of life has allowed me to only get in two games played the past week, but I still echo your sentiments. The INT thing was the only nightmare I was facing. In contrast, now, I feel like I don't throw enough of them, haha, but I don't pass a lot as it is, so it's fine.

People may not be talking enough about how much the player models alone on next gen are finally as spot on and proportioned as anyone could want. And it's still editable on top of that.

If no one has noticed (I noticed in my last game played), the dirt and wear shows up on sleeves, pants and jerseys accordingly, now.

Maybe a small thing or nothing at all to most, but the actual physics to players that stop, you see their weight shift, they have to honestly restart and reaccelerate from that stopping point - that's a majorly awesome thing to me.

In short, there's a lot of huge upgrades to the game that should be talked about compared to field aesthetics or off the field workarounds (because in 99% of the off the field areas, you absolutely can edit and remedy what has irked you - I know it's not the desired expectation from the start, but it's way better than not having the options to edit or change anything at all).

Exactly. I’ve always been big on the physics returning to the game, but I’d gotten so used to the pinball movement over the last decade that I had to get used to the momentum again. Found myself overshooting tackles ALOT until I realized the subtleness of the left stick lateral movement while strafing and the need to “break down” when in the vicinity of the ball carrier. The movement in this game is gorgeous.

This time of year I usually split my time between Madden and NBA2K, but I find myself playing Madden quite a bit more. The INT issue being solved makes the on-field experience really fun, and for all the small issues Franchise Mode is still really fun.

That and 2K removing Fast Breaks...
