Greensboro, NC - The UNC Greensboro Spartans announced the hire of Lee Williamson as head coach of their basketball team for the 2007-2008 season. Williamson replaces Mike Dement, who unexpectedly stepped down after guiding the Spartans to a 30-33 record during his first two seasons as head coach, including a 16-14 record last season.
Williamson is both a native of Greensboro, NC and the Spartans are also his alma mater. The 26-year old has worked his way up the coaching ranks as an assistant after walking on to the UNCG basketball team during his time at UNC Greensboro. Williamson rarely saw the floor, but he was a tremendous asset for the Spartans during practices and scrimmages.
Williamson will take over a team that has some promising talent and is projected to finish in the top half of the Southern Conference next season. Davidson is the overwhelming favorite, but if the Wildcats, led by Stephen Curry, falter, it could open the gates for someone else, UNCG among those leading the charge.
Williamson coaches a tough brand of basketball which emphasizes tough man-to-man defense and spacing the floor offensively.
"I'm honored to accept this position as head men's basketball coach at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro," said Williamson in his introductory press conference earlier this afternoon. "It's exciting to be able to coach at my alma mater and I really look forward to leading these guys going forward. This team has the talent to make some noise, and I look forward to getting to work in practice and seeing what we have to work with."

Hello, everyone! I am starting this legacy up as a complement to my
current coaching legacy. I just decided to fire up this legacy alongside it because, though I enjoy playing that legacy, as well, I also enjoy the challenge of building a team up. This will allow me to fulfill that itch while still continuing my 15-years-and-running legacy.
UNCG isn't normally one of the teams you can pick for a career legacy, but I was able to manipulate the starting lineups in order to lower their overall rating enough to pick for career legacy. I wanted to pick UNCG because they are my real-life alma mater. As such, this team is better than most teams that people pick to start a career legacy, so though this team is still quite bad, I should be fairly competitive within conference play, where my team is rated pretty middle of the road.
All games will be played. I never simulate games.
