Rodgers retiring after one year in CFM. any way to stop that?

Just like the title says...I've played a few CFMS so far this cycle and each time, Rodgers retires after one year. A little annoying especially knowing he will play at least one more year. Any way to work around this? I just started a new one and only played week 1 so I'm hoping to find a fix for this for the end of the season. Thanks guys!

Not in front of my console so I'm not sure if this is even possible but are you able to edit his age before you head into the offseason? Then you can edit it back after the retirement stage.

not sure! but good thinking. I'll look tonight. I'll even make a fake CFM to just try something out like this. very frustrating!

Editing age tends to work.Before you could edit age you used to have take control of the player in a CFM after the teams last game of the season and before you advance to the next week.The player would end up in the free agent pool even if he was supposed to retire.

I haven't seen him retire yet in my franchises but like the OP said, just go edit his age before the season ends and then when the new season starts just put his age back up to 40

Yeah I can confirm it works. I just did it the other day, made him 29, then made him 40 once the new season started, just to be safe because I've seen some players retire in the free agency period.


What's interesting is he just said he wants to be back a month from now if the Jets are still in it, but Madden doesn't let us edit injuries like 2K. Wish we had that flexibility even if the likelihood of that is extremely low.

I just got to year 2 in my CFM and he came back at 79 OVR

Edit their age before starting the regular season to ensure it takes effect.
