How Are You Giving The Old Game A Send Off?

I am playing '13 more than '14. I have never played in or won the MAC. I adjusted the conferences to look like the 2004 conferences. So, before the ACC had a conference champs game, the PAC had 10 teams, and the Sun Belt stretched across all kinds of regions. Any team not in the 2004 season was thrown into Independent. I am going to take over the Western Michigan Broncos. This will by send off for the for the old gen college football game. Anyone doing a proper send off?

I'm just going through my collection, both PS2, and Xbox 360 games and playing/watching them. I'm fiddling with the recruiting systems in each to remember what they were like, and trying out some of the files I edited.

I moved my PS3 and NCAA 14 to my downstairs a few months ago. I got a new entertainment center yesterday so I unplugged it and I'm on the fence about if I should plug it back in or not.

I've won a million national titles so I don't have anything else to accomplish. I recently moved over to the flexbone just for fun. I've already did my goal which was a refresher on how the last game was. I'm leaning toward just calling it a day on the old. I think I'll keep it handy just incase I get bored one weekend over the next 6 weeks.

It's pretty much out to pasture for me. I played a lot during the modded CFP years. But the last few years I tried to go back a few times but just couldn't. I really missed not having high point/directional passing that they brought into like Madden 17.

I haven't played '14 for a couple years now. I'll be playing '05 and '06 for as long as I live though. That said, I'm just as excited as anyone for the new game. I honestly don't even care if it sucks. As a collector of the entire series, just the mere fact of it coming back is a landmark event to me.

I've likely already sent 14 off. Years ago it began to be too stale for me to enjoy regularly anymore. I wanted to, but it showed its age and the strides Madden has made in recent years made it even harder to go back to.

I may re-install Madden 24 and play it for a bit just to get a refresher on how it feels to compare to CFB25 when it launches, but I don't see myself playing 14 anytime soon.

Honestly I'm keeping 14 going. I recently got a PC that can run CFB revamped on emulator so it's kind of a new world for me.

I'm definitely picking up the new game but keeping 14 in my back pocket since the game has changed so much with the Pac 12 going away and all the realignment. I'm also not a fan of the 12 team playoff. Would rather it be 4, 6, or 8. Having 14 around will make that possible.

Now if 25 allows us to tweak between a 4, 8, and 12 team playoff and has realignment in it I'm probably going to retire the old game.

14 finally fell into the nostalgia basket after being the go to game for so many years. But, it was difficult to go back to after Spectating/Playing Madden on current gen consoles with the player movement. That game is just so beautiful to watch from the Broadcast Cam perspective. I'm sure I'll re-visit here and there at times. But, once this new game hits...it's not goodbye, but see you later.

I sold my PS3 to another OSer late last year, so I have already quite literally given NCAA 14 a proper send-off lol.

My 360, which I've had for probably 15 years or so, died on me a while back. The only reason I would ever bring it out was to play NCAA 14 now and then.

I'm not buying another 360 just to play '14. Not with the new game so close. Now if the new game sucks I might just get a new 360 to scratch the itch.

I'd say there's a 99% chance we can do conference realignment in the new game. Playoff is a question mark though.

I do know a few months ago in a statement they acknowledged that the landscape of college football has changed a lot in a small period of time, and that it has the potential to do so again in the near future. And they wanted to give players the means to adjust to that.

That statement gives me hope that playoff size will be customizable as well, but I'm not confident in it.

I am the kind of guy that "college football is my life". I watch golf, some college basketball especially March Madness, and some NFL (more the last couple of seasons). No matter how much PGA 2k21, Super Mega Baseball 2, and a couple other games, I always come back to NCAA '13 and '14. I just enjoy the game that much. Always have. Just set up my 2004 conferences in '13 and took over Western Michigan. Just waiting patiently for the new one to come out.

Actually I am *expecting* that seeing as how it was in one of the 1990's versions of the Bill Walsh college game.

I lost my PS3 about 5 years ago now due to a full system crash and haven't played any NCAA since then as I won't touch the emulators or what not on PC. So the send off was long ago.
