    CFB 25 Flexbone Thread

I thought I'd start a thread that strictly talks about the flexbone. I saw a thread like this during the NCAA 14 cycle. What are your thoughts about the offense in this version? I enjoy this offense a lot. One major issue was getting your b-back involved in Ncaa 14, but now it is very easy to get him involved in this game. I ran into a few issues/glitches with the book, but I'm still enjoying this offense.

    Re: CFB 25 Flexbone Thread

I’m looking forward to doing a dynasty with it. I’ve been using other playbooks for now but think I finally got the option keep/pitch mechanics down and am ready to give it a go on my first real dynasty. I’m trying to decide if I want to take one of the service academies and use their playbook, or pick a different low prestige school and try to build them to run it.

Also, after doing some recruiting and seeing this game doesn’t tank ratings for players playing the FB position it will be much easier to have a good player in that B back spot.

Possibly could work depending on the ratings. They would have a high overall but might lack the ball carrier attributes needed to be good as the B back in the flexbone. You at better off recruiting power HBs and changing them to FB or recruiting utility FBs.

One thing I have noticed is that the read keys are not correct on a lot - not all - but on quite a few midline and veer reads, they have the incorrect read key. Only pointing this out b/c if there are people who rely on the key pre-snap, they're gonna make the wrong read and it could very easily cause them to

Nice. I'm still feeling out the reads. They happen so fast sometimes. And I noticed that the overalls don't take that much of a hit anymore, which is great!

I plan on using it starting tomorrow. I usually only recruit athlete qbs and many RBs. Wr, is less important.

I like going after big WRs that could possibly win jump balls and catch those contested 3rd and long passes in one on one coverage. My backs are usually fast enough to be the speed threat in the passing game if needed. Hell I may even just recruit more TEs, move them to WR, and move more athletic OLine guys to TE.

I’m probably going to be basing out of the 21/20/22 option sets like east and U-off so I can audible to other similar sets (f twins/split) so I’m really excited to see how much love these looks have gotten. I do, however, despair that none of the I formations have a lot of triple. That being said, I don’t have the game yet and I’m relying on YouTube and random websites for formations.

If you would like to see the Wing T in action, you can check out my twitch channel. I stream there..badly. I post highlights on my youtube channel as well!

I’m definitely going to try this offense when I get the game. Had a lot of fun with it in ‘14.

The biggest thing that has me excited is that with a better audible system, you really can run Paul Johnson’s If/Then system without lacking the number of audibles it would take to combat every look.

My main concern is the hope that they have kept this as effective as it was on ‘14, or better yet improved on it. There are a couple of concepts added in Revamped and I hope CFB 25 has all of those plays at the bare minimum.

I’m enjoying flexbone in this game. Rocket toss seems to work a lot better than I remember the toss plays working in 14. Dives are solid. Load and counter options add some variety. The change in buttons for keep/give has taken some getting used to.

Since the option plays were significantly reduced for I formation sets and there is only wishbone tight, I think I’ll spend most of my time running the flexbone.

Thats swell and all, but doesnt really apply to the flexbone.

Rocket toss to the short side of the field has been my go to lately.

Just so everyone is aware, there is a stat bug on Rocket Toss where they go to the QB not the HB. This happens in Practice Mode and Play Now but haven’t tested any other modes.
