No good, very bad Coaching carousel
5th year dynasty. Finish my 3rd year as USF coach. Miami finally sucks so they fire their coach but guess what? Because I seem to automatically get extended for some reason, I get 0 job offers.

Re: No good, very bad Coaching carousel
I almost never get job offers to take over for a coach that has been fired. It's always when the coach leaves for a new job.
Take over Miami as the existing head coach (add a new character), and see if he has any offers at the end of the season. If so, take one. Switch back to your main coach and advance to the next week and the Miami job should show up in the coaching carousel. This method has worked for me about 80% of the time, so there's no guarantee, but it does seem to work most of the time. -
Re: No good, very bad Coaching carousel
The week after "job offers" is "coaching carousel" which should have more jobs available. Sometimes you just have to manually take over the school whose job you want and make their coach accept another offer to open up the job for your coach.Comment

The carousel isn't good, but....
Every single time I've done it, better jobs open up in weeks 2 and 3 than in week 1.?The Bulgarian Brothers - a story of two brothers (Oggy and Dinko) as they coach in the NCAA and the NBA.

Re: No good, very bad Coaching carousel
Here’s the thing. You literally cannot be offered a job if you get the auto extension. I’ve tried to change and play with everything. I have a save point at the conference championship game but no matter what I can’t get any offer because It made me sign an extension. I’ve created a new character and existing HC for Miami like mentioned but he gets fired after the season and my main character cannot get offered a job…because he signed an extension. It’s literally broken.Comment

Have you tried turning off coach firing in the settings?Comment

Re: No good, very bad Coaching carousel
I can confirm this, and its sometimes game breaking. I had an OC at Boise State, after year 3 I kept getting extended for 1 season at a time, note I couldn't accept or deny the extension it was auto extended. I tested and even after 10 seasons I was getting extended 1 year at a time. After 10 seasons, I decided that my dynasty was essentially broke and restarted a new one. This is a major game breaking bug for dynasty atm.Comment

Re: No good, very bad Coaching carousel
Ok now let me get this straight. We have to add this in the long list of other things in which we are handcuffed in this game. I am in year 3 of my SDSU Aztecs dynasty (my son picked them, he played offense, I played defense, he has quit playing now). I have played college football video games for the last 20 years or so and never chose SDSU. I am ready to bolt.
Is this auto extension just there for all coaching jobs?
And no way to toggle it off?
Are we strapped to complete our 30 years (or whatever it is) at the same school?
Am I supposed to start "force losing" games to get out? If I do this no one will want me as a head coach.
I have always built up lower ranked programs, then moved on to other lower ranked programs and do the same. Then sometimes, pick a better program if I was offered. I guess that won't be done in this game.Comment

It's quite funny that they specifically called this out in the deep dive. Little did we know we wouldn't be able to get ANY job. Makes me believe ve they couldn't figured out how to do both.Comment

Re: No good, very bad Coaching carousel
I’ll have to test more but I’m playing around with coach firing off from my save point (conference championship week), I’m not sure toggling coach firing off works at all. The next week after I turn it off, 25 coaches get fired. It also keeps me locked in the extension with no offers . It could be the timing of when I turn it off.Comment
