Game Notes | Seattle, WA. - The USC Trojans and Washinton Huskies may both be ranked in the Top 25, 12th and 13th respectively, but have taken drastically different routes to this point of the season.
USC has relied heavily on an explosive offense to offset what has been a roller coaster season for a much maligned defensive unit, that has given up as many big plays as they have created.
The Huskies on the other hand have grinded out tough, gritty wins on the backs of a nationally ranked defense, a drastic change from a season ago that saw them propelled by Michael Penix Jr and their own explosive offense.
The Huskies have only scored over 30 points twice this season, with their season high of 40 coming off a 5 interception day for the defense, compared to the Trojans have only scored under 30 twice, both losses to Big Ten rivals.
The magic number in this game is 30. If Washington can hold the explosive USC offense below that mark, they will likely come out with a win. But if the Trojans and Zachariah Branch continue their offensive onslaught, it is doubtful the Huskies and Will Howard will be able to keep pace. |
