NBA 2K25 everyone goes under screens (help)
No matter what I do I cannot figure out how to stop the players from going under every single screen. I've changed various sliders and it just doesn't matter they keep going under screens no matter who has the ball. the only fix i've found for this is to set on ball defense to tight but even then they still go under screens sometimes. might anyone have a fix or does 2k have to fix this?Tags: None -

Re: NBA 2K25 everyone goes under screens (help)
There are defense settings under Gameplan during a game, and that is where you can change how your AI teammates handle screens. You can even set specific behavior for every player on the opposing team, so if you were facing the Bucks you can set the defender covering Dame to go over screens, the defender covering Giannis to go under screens, and the defender covering Middleton to Switch on screens. No matter what I do I cannot figure out how to stop the players from going under every single screen. what about fixing it for the cpu? cause the cpu always goes under as well (regardless to who the ball handler is)Comment

Apologies, I thought I had responded to your follow-up.
For the CPU, simply switch over to the CPU team in-game and set the behavior as you would set your own team. Then just switch back to your team and play, your settings will save.Comment

Re: NBA 2K25 everyone goes under screens (help)
This is (right?) but it is really annoying to do this operation every time. 2K should take care of the defensive strategy and not just the offensive part of the game.

It's strange is that only very few complain about this while we are all admiring the new dribbling system etc. Gentlemen, basketball is also made of these things.Last edited by goma76; 09-16-2024, 01:39 AM.Comment

Yea, the devs have all but abandoned the AI defensive system this console generation. We’re lucky they finally decided to make the defensive settings actually work this year, sadly enough. They cater almost exclusively to the Park crowd and that group has no need for defensive AI.
You would think a dev would sit down and figure out some defensive systems to cater around the premiere players in the league so that the AI is aware of how to defend a team with Curry, or Lebron, or Jokic, or KD. But the AI treats every team the same and has no idea that stars exist, so we’re on our own.Comment

Re: NBA 2K25 everyone goes under screens (help)
This used to work in 2k24 .. idk what happened in 2k25 . i went back to test and they always go over when possible against Steph so you can't just shoot 3's off every screen. it ruins the competitive integrity of MyNBA online ): cause users just abuse screens to get open shots.

Re: NBA 2K25 everyone goes under screens (help)
Every year we get new bugs and it's seems like they have no intention to fix them, or the ones that continue to linger year after year.
Injuries heal 2-3 times faster than they should... still.
It's not super obvious when your rookies are available for their rookie contract extension and the computer will never sign them to those extensions before they hit RFA.
Honestly I'm sure there are plenty of threads year after year that touch on all this mediocrity. I wouldn't count on any of this being addressed this year through any patch, and I wish I couldn't be confident about saying mark my words but.... mark my words.Comment

Re: NBA 2K25 everyone goes under screens (help)
Honestly, this should be something they could patch in theory. If the settings work for the user, they should work for the AI.
All they'd have to do (and I say that loosely, I know it's not as easy as pressing a button) is change the AI's default defensive settings. Maybe Go Over/No Hedge on centers (very common in drop coverage in non-switching situations IRL), and Go Over/Switch for non-center pick-and-roll.
Czar and Mike never answer me on Twitter, so maybe someone else can hit them up about this.Comment

Yea, not enough hashtags and “This jumpshot animation is tough [emoji1320][emoji1320][emoji1320]” BS to get their attention unfortunately. Gotta love how the “deep dive” info we got on gameplay this summer was basically “Better offense! Oh, and better defense! Ok gimme money”Comment
